Jay Leno says Corvette the worlds best sports car
https://www.foxnews.com/auto/jay-len...se-im-american
when it comes to bargain sports cars, he says the Chevrolet Corvette is the world’s best.
“You get Lamborghini performance at Chevrolet prices. I mean, the Corvette [ZR1] has 755 horsepower for a third of the price you’d get for a Ferrari or a Lamborghini, and since it’s a Chevy – you can fix it with a hammer and BOOM.”

Jay has good taste in cars. And yes, he's been a Corvette fan for a long time.

I miss Jay Leno on late night TV. Jay did not wear his politics on his sleeve. His approach was more like Johnny Carson and I miss that. All the current late night hosts are too damn angry politically partisan for me to watch. We need another Johnny or Jay.

Totally agree. Would be interesting to see if a non-political late night comedy show could make it now.

Safety Car
A number of years ago I attended a live taping of the show. He seemed to be a normal Joe...just a good guy. My best friend lives in Burbank, a few blocks from NBC studios. He says one day he is at a traffic light and hears this odd noise next to him. He looks and it is Jay driving his Stanley Steamer. He gave him a thumbs up. He tells me Jay goes to Bobs Big Boy cruise quite often just to hang and chat with car guys, just a normal guy. As for todays hosts, I dont watch. Every night 20 min of Hollywood political ramblings. Jokes about political figures are fine, but all you get now is a show trying to further a certain political agenda. It gets very boring quickly.

I met Jay at the rock store on Mulholland Drive a few years ago.
He was on his turbine motorcycle. Great guy, we chatted about five minutes about motorcycles, cars, weather lol...
Just a normal fellow for sure!

Seems like a good guy, but he has said that more than once on more than one car...

In addition to his clearly excellent taste in cars, he is a true automobile aficionado, knowing the technical details and history of all forms of motor transport. His video on the Rolls Royce Merlin engine showed his love of all things mechanical.
Sad day for late night entertainment when he "retired". The persistent story is that he was canned by the PC suits at NBC for telling a joke about the Community Organizer in Chief. Sad day for late night entertainment.

And he keeps the blue jean shirt companies in business
I like his youtube channel. No fancy music or graphics, just to the point car talk.

Wow, profound, but typical... Leno's parroting a car magazine article on the GS last summer in which they said the Stingray is the world's best sports car.
Yeah, just a "normal" guy, one who made a point of telling AutoWeek readers about having a bunch of custom-sized tires made when he couldn't find any.

Jay is a 100% class act. Some just wish they were half as much.
