It is connected between the Battery Tender and your car. You must have a Wi-Fi connection for it to work.

OK, I get it now. That’s pretty cool. My Deltran tender is 3 amp. I looked at the cigarette plug accessory from Deltran and it said for use on less then 3 amp chargers. It has a 3 amp fuse, so mine would probably blow it.

The charger that came with my vette was defecetive. Would charge all the time, got a new one under warranty. I think instructions said not to leave it connected if it ramained in charge mode for 24 hrs without switching to maintain mode.

My “corvette charger” seams to still be working properly (i.e. green maintenance charge light lit).

Thanks to all who have responded.

Is it ok to start the car while the charger is still plugged in?

Yes, the charger is transparent to the car and starting it does not affect the charger.

But why?

I assume you know it is best to just leave it alone.

Ok silly question on charging: Do you close the rear hatch on the AC power cord, or on the charger output cord and leave the charger outside of the car? My car lives outside so I can't leave it in the garage with the rear open.

I believe most will say close it on the charger cord (close to where it inserts into car) as it is thin...

Yes, I have a vert and close the trunk on the cord without issue. However, my charger is outside the trunk with car parked in the garage. I don’t know if it’s a good idea to have the charger in the car. The cigarette plug wire seems more forgiving then the power plug wire. I can’t answer for closing the hatch or trunk on the power cord.

BTW, my corvette tender hasn’t shown anymore issues. Green charge light has remained on.

It probably won't hurt the cord, however I prefer to leave trunk lid cracked to be sure, why not if it stored in the garage and you don't have a rodent problem.

Default Do your trunk lights turn off when your trunk lid is cracked.

I have been getting Onstar warnings telling me I have an alert received that I need to take my Vette to the Dealership and they find nothing. The warning is ignition to engine. They told me no problem found and keep the charge up using the batter tender.

If the tender does not move off an orange light, it could be your battery is in need of replacement. Might be a good idea to have the battery checked.
