2014 C7 convertible
I am going to try and help a friend sell her recently deceased husbands 2014 C7 convertible. It is black on black, 7-speed, 8500 miles and excellent shape. I have looked at others on line and they are all over the spectrum of pricing. Does $48,000.00 sound fair? I am not real familiar with Corvettes as I am a Camaro guy myself. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The best way to get a good price fast would be to take it to the nearest Carmax, they will give her a check that day from what others have said.. This will also give you a price point to start from if you want to sell it for her..

You can start there, but honestly I think that is high for a ‘14. You don’t say what option package(s) are on the car so that would affect the price.
Last November I bought my ‘14 coupe 2LT with 2600 miles on it in excellent shape and paid $40.5K.
If I had to guess, I would say $44-45K to start. But others who may follow the pricing trends on the C7 may totally disagree with me and say your price is fair. That would certainly be good for your friend’s wife.
Going to CarMax is not a bad idea to get an idea of the car’s trade value and then you can adjust from there for a private party sale.

It's not high for a convertible which sell for a up to a $3-4K premium over coupes. M7s are also commanding higher prices on the used market. A used convertible M7 is hard to find, and it's a very desirable color combo with low, but not too low mileage. At least it was driven and not left to rot.
You didn't say whether it was a Z51 package or not, and if so, I wouldn't start any lower than $48K, and would accept $46K.

***$48,000.00 sounds extremely high to me. $30Ks is where a private sale should eventually end up on that car.

Find out the options (Z51, 1, 2, or 3 LT), then input info on Kelley Blue Book. I think you’ll find it to be worth $48,500 - $49,500. For fast sale, I’d take $46,000 - $46,500. I agree with Foose, low mileage (but driven) M7 verts command a premium. I’d be very careful of Carmax. Once, I took a low mileage, late model Cadillac to them and their offer was laughable.

Perspective:
If it's a non-Z51, 1LT? Way, way too high at $48K.
.. My brand new 2017 base, convertible, M7, would have sold to me for about $48K. Were mine sans Z51 features, MSRC, 3LT. With NO miles on it.This one has 8,500 miles & no factory warranty left..

Well, all I can tell you is that I received $42K on the 2014, 2LT, Z51, M7, with MSRC pictured above on trade not too long ago with more mileage than that. It sold for $48K at the dealer, and was gone in 2 days. That would NOT be considered a "base car," and original MSRP was $73K.
OP, MSRC and Z51 are the necessary add-ons to come close to your asking price.

Criswell Chevrolet was the marketing dealer of your used 2014. I'm surprised it lasted 2 days.
.. This guy's looking for a casual sale. He's not going to get in the $40Ks...…

The only "throwing of numbers around," have been those thinking it's a "$48K resale car." Lol!

OP - the major info such as trim level is encoded in digits 5 & 6 of the VIN. All of the option codes are on a sticker under the trunk carpet near the battery.
Typical options of interest include performance exhaust NPP, mag ride suspension FE4, and Z-51.
2014 VIN Decoding:
This is an example of a VIN # for a 2014 Corvette Coupe (3LT, Z51, MN7):
1 G 1 Y L 2 D 7 X E 5 1 0 0 0 0 1
There are 17 characters. Starting with first character on left the codes are:
01. "1"= Built in US
02. "G"= General Motors
03. "1"= Chevrolet
04. Denotes the car line: Corvette is a "Y" body.
05. Provides more info about the car:
.. A=1LT M/T
.. B=1LT A/T

.. J=Z51 2LT M/T
.. K=Z51 2LT A/T
.. L=Z51 3LT M/T
.. M=Z51 3LT A/T
.. 9=export (Non US, Non Canada)
06. Body style: "2" = Coupe, "3" = Convertible
07. Restraint code: D – AJ7 Active Manual Belts, Airbags – Driver & Passenger and Seat Side
08. Engine: LT1 = "7"
09. Check Digit – 0 to 9 or X
10. Model year: E (2014)
11. Plant: Bowling Green = "5"
12-17. Production sequence number that starts with the #100001 for each model yr.

Just the Facts
Easy to do the same math from their 'guaranteed' offer. The Forum for sale listing reaches the target audience. I've sold 4 cars using eBay and with only one blip. A Canadian discovered his country didn't much like the idea of him importing a car. And was going to make him pay dearly to do it. Craigslist, eBay, cars.com all come with the caveat that lots of crooks inhabit the realm. So caution is a virtue rewarded using any online resources. It is not for the faint of heart.
Was the car purchased locally? Similar deal, a neighbor's wife sold a sweet Chevy Colorado to the original dealer and they gave her a surprising amount for an high demand model. Car dealers like to have quality inventory on the lot. Even as eye candy like the C7.
And good on you for helping.
