Part of driving is climbing a hill and gliding down to me. I think its because when I was a kid the house I lived in was on a hill and I had a wagon. I hate the way rev match gasses it when I just want to glide.

To which fuse do you refer?

I use it sometimes for the sound not to instruct me how or when to shift.

Exactly! With the off road Xpipe it’s even better 😄

With the fuse pulled...Borla X Pipe...and Catless Secondary Magnaflow Competition Exhaust....Rev Match on downshifts makes my ZO6 sound like it’s ripping the air apart around me!!!

On 100% of the time and of course with the fuse pulled nothing like that sound.

99% of the time it's off. Hate the blip around town. I like it sometimes when I'm back road driving a little faster than I should and like to skip a gear on the downshift.
BTW learned how to drive a stick on a 67 Plymouth GTX 440. Never drove a Beetle.

Definitely get yourself an MGW flat stick shifter.

Off when you start the car have to hit the Rev Match paddle each time to turn it on and the gear number on the DIC will be orange to verify rev match on.

Manual transmission Master!!! Heel & toe is so easy, and it's more interaction with the car. It's an improvement of your driving skills, an additional skill-set.

Be careful, don't do a money-shift.

I have mine on most all the time. Don't see a reason to not have rev match on. It's easier on the drive line when down shifting, unless you're perfect with your two pedal foot action. Just a thought on the 7th to 4th gear error: if rev match is not on and you make that mistake you won't realize your mistake(7th to 4th rather than 7th to 6th) until you let the clutch out in 4th gear, which would be far worse than just hearing the motor rev(rev match), which allows you to realize your error before releasing the clutch. It's happened a couple times to me and I'm glad I had rev match on.

Then you haven't driven a really good one... Say a Honda S2000 or a Miata.. Those are GREAT shifters. Say what you will about those cars, but they have great shifters...

And Ken, rev match is way better than you are. (or me, or anyone not named Senna).

I used it when I tracked my GS. Don't see much use for it on the street (I drive like an old nun on the street) except to make some noise.

I do have fond memories of the dewey decimal system. And as a child I liked the sound the rotary dial made when returning to its place.

First thing I turn on when I jump in the Z, I wish it would stay on so I would not have to turn it on at every start up. Rev Match makes the worst manual trans driver the best manual trans driver.

I use Rev Match all the time. Once I start the car, I turn it on before I engage my first gear.

So it works on both upshifts and downshifts?

That's my question, is there an issue during breaking period if the car revs past 4k rpm from an 7th to 4th error with clutch in?
