Floor jack slipped
#141
If nothing else, this thread has reminded me what my father taught me about jacking up a car (about 55 years ago). He said "son, always, always remember to keep a constant eye on the relationship between the car and the jack when jacking up the car". He told me all the other things to do, which many have spoke about here, like level surface, chocks, etc., but the quote always stuck in my mind, and I've lowered may a jack because something wasn't perfect as I began lifting the car. And of course get something to keep car from falling once you reach required height. I think Walt is correct here, and the accident could have been prevented. You can never be too careful when working around heavy machinery. People have been crushed or had their hands or arms smashed when jacking up cars. don't get complacent because you've done it before
