Update:
It took almost 2 weeks to get all the parts needed for the repair (all 8 AFM lifters to be replaced, along with new AFM manifold, solenoids, screen, gaskets, etc). Didn't think it would be this involved but hey... better safe than sorry I say
They're saying I should have the car back on Monday (fine with me as it's going to be raining all weekend anyway

So far so good but as I said, the idle seems a little rougher and there is a definite cam lope sound at idle. I spoke with the tech about it and he's not quite sure what to say about it (that's never good!)...
We're leaving early tomorrow morning for a road trip and we'll see how it goes (put over a 100 miles on her since the rebuild and everything seems good - no more ECO either!)

Normally, its the balance of your warranty, so the new repairs do not start at 0. Gm will keep fixing everything until your warranty runs out.

True but don't forget the powertrain warranty is 5 years/100K miles
