Default Hertz Z06 rental to Spring Mountain

Last week 3/24 I flew into Vegas to get to my 2nd Spring Mountain Corvette Owners school and went to Hertz to pick up my confirmed Malibu. I had heard that they were selling the Z06 rentals and figured that they probably wouldn't have any to rent, so I asked - they had two, so.... I rented one!
It is #26/ 100 of the 100th Anniversary Z06 rentals. Since my old Z51 and my new Z06 are an 7M, it was the first time I drove an A8 -it was flawless, but I'd still order mine M7.
The rental had the Anniversary logo on the floor and cargo mats -plus 3LZ with yellow stitching. It also had the interior plaque with the Hertz 100th Anniversary, the VIN and that it is 26/100.
Just under 19k miles. The only other thing that I noted was that when I looked under the hood, it had the Jake CAI.
Here are some shots.

Oh, and just like last time Spring Mountain was a blast thanks to Rick, JJ and the crew!

I previously rented a stingray convertible w/ unlimited mileage from Hertz using the 50+ rate for $199/day total.

Do they have daily mileage limitations? Like you can't drive TOO far from home base?

Overall a nice car but I think a "Hertz" edition is kind of dumb... never heard of that before. Probably no other Vette on the planet with a Jake CAI that dirty and that cargo mat is hideous.

The first time I did Spring Mountain I rented a Hertz ZHZ coupe, got it for $129/day with unlimited miles, it was a C6 with LS3. The daily rate isn't bad, but the 75 miles/day is a bit bogus, especially considering the $.71/mile overage. I had Corvette Corral tix for Sebring last month and reserved one, but when I got the car it was showing "Service Engine now" and they didn't have another. After some negotiation for the problem, they gave me a brand new Mercedes C63 AMG sedan and waived the $.75/mile overage charge, so I got unlimited miles, the car had 9 miles on it. Probably just as well, because we stayed in Orlando and the drive to Sebring is about 80 miles each way. So much for the winter sucks Corvette fix, guess I'll just have to wait a bit longer before my new ZO6 comes out of hibernation.

I ended up in a Camaro for $54/day all up. No mileage limits. Pretty peppy for a V6. Enterprise.

Yup, I could have had that or others for less. I just thought that it may be fun to drive a Z06 to Spring Mountain to track a Z06.

Sort of like those dumb Shelby GT350H rentals in the late 60's...…

Oh yeah totally worth it. Sounds like a good plan. If they had a Z at Enterprise I probably would have jumped on it.
