Default 2019 GS question

2019 GS here, and want to put this out there for opinions. The car really seems to grab or track expansion joints on the freeway/highway. Good example, entrance ramp onto the freeway, accelerating, and when the car runs over the expansion joint, it wants to track in the direction of the joint, to the extent it actually grabs the wheel, and I have to slightly over steer to compensate. No matter how hard I hold the steering wheel, the car still slightly tracks in the direction of the joint. The other night I was changing lanes on a freeway they were resurfacing. The lane that I was in had already been ground down, and I was changing to a lane with the original pavement, so there was a slight difference in height. I was changing to an inside lane and the front left wheel made the transition with no problem. How ever when the passenger wheel hit the transition, the car actually aggressively pulled back towards the other lane. Once again, had to slightly oversteer to compensate. Last time into dealer, they adjusted the alignment, but it made no difference. Tires are properly inflated. This is my 6th Corvette, but my first C7, and never had this happen with my others. If this is normal, I can accept it, just curious if anyone else has experienced this. Thanks in advance.

Seems to be normal. I had the same problem with my C5. From my reading, this is true with almost all cars with such wide wheels.

It is common with the OE GS tires. After changing to the AS3+ tires, it has not been nearly as bad. Setting your steering to sport or track might help a little.

Considered par for the course with our wide low profile performance tires. See link for details.

I had that problem with my 97 after I took delivery. It would track pavement seams all the way across the highway. Lots of alignments didn't help, then I had the alignment guy add just a touch of front toe in Vs 0 toe where he had been setting it. That greatly reduced the tracking across the road following seams. I have been making sure I have some toe in ever since and my two C5s, one C6Z and the C7Z have been well behaved.

I have a 19 GS and I had my dealer apply the base model alignment specs (FE1 - 4) and that lessened the tracking problem and improved tire wear because I do not track the car and do not need the aggressive stock alignment. I did the same thing with my 13 GS.

My '16 z51 did this with the oem Super Sport tires. Since changing all 4 to Sport 4S non run flats I have noticed this "pull" is far less. Also the "hopping" feel when turning at slow speeds has decreased a lot as well

Default Thanks

Thanks everyone. Some great info here and thanks for the tips. Was planning on swapping the tires this fall anyway.
