C8 or C7?

Just traded my 2012 C6 for a 2019 C7 coupe in February. With the lousy wet weather and salted roads here in NJ I haven't even really had a chance to break it in yet. That being said, I've been watching for/looking at the spy photos and renderings of the C8 since before my C7 purchase, and decided that I just didn't like the "look"/shape/style of the C8 test mules that are running around the country. Further, before my C6 I owned a mid-engine Porsche, and just could not stand the engine noise right behind my head. Finally, I am not one of those people who must be first to have the latest and greatest new thing, so I wouldn't have bought a C8 in it's first year of production anyway. I'm extremely happy with my C7; to me the difference between it and my C6 is like night and day. I'm sure the C8 will be a big jump from the C7, but it just doesn't matter to me. I custom ordered my car exactly how I wanted it, got an excellent deal from MacMulkin, and I'll keep it til I'm physically unable to drive it.

I am not so sure there are "younger sport car buyers" anymore. The younger buyers can barely afford BRZ/GT, Miatas, etc. which now all start in the $30k range. Sure, there are some "Richy Rich" kids with C8s that we will all see on youtube videos but in general the Corvette is an impractical sports car that after dealers fees, taxes, and very few options with be north of $70k. Most younger buyers are starting families, paying off student loans, buying homes, insurance, saving for college kids tuition, etc. and will not be the target audience for this car or any other impractical sports car at this price range. The main target audience will still be the existing Corvette fans and you may grab a few new folks that can't quite afford an exotic but always wanted a mid-engine sports car.
Most of the successful younger folks I see are spending their money on Teslas...

I just bought my C7 last November so a C8 at this point is not in the plans. Maybe in a few years I'll look at getting one.
Right now, just thoroughly enjoying the C7.

My new purchase is an insurance policy. If I like the C8, nothing stops me from getting one either immediately or down the road. If I don’t like the C8, I simply continue enjoying my C7. Win-win.
My “insurance policy” was a reaction to the news that C7 production ends this June.
I heard the news Saturday. I placed my order with Tommy Jr Sunday.
14% off msrp. Not bad for a gorgeous “insurance policy”.
I didn’t need or want a 2019 C7, as I’m still in love with my 2014 C7 with 36,000 miles, two years left on its extended warranty, in pristine condition. GM’s surprise announcement forced my hand.
My “insurance policy” resets the odometer to zero and the MY to 2019. A fresh extended warranty buys me seven more worry-free years in my dream car.
I’m a happy guy.

Personally I'd love to have an NSX.

More than having an NSX, I just wish I could afford an NSX. Not sure what you mean about waiting for my 650 to "blow up".

Methinks getting on a dealer's list of firsts to take delivery of whatever they're allocated will come w/ a price all its own.
Appears many are (unnecessarily, IMO) whistling past the graveyard, C8 is the 'new' generation as of '06-'19. Period.
While I'm not exactly warm re C8, I've also absolutely no doubts whatsoever when I see my first C8?
I'll be duly impressed.
It'll be the latest & greatest Corvette, how could I not.
