Default 5/5/19 ZR1's,Z06's, GS's and #19 Corvette for me. Heavy on Pics*Mike Furman@Criswell*

~I hear the misc. stories about C7 sales and I shake my head...I've been as busy the last few months as I have ever been during the entire run of C7 sales.
The 7th generation is a World Class Sports Car and for those of you that don't know it probably have never taken a test drive. I implore you to drive one
and then decide as you will come to the same conclusion that I have...and I've driven them all. I delivered 39 last month and I was off a week as I was
fortunate enough to be at the Corvette Bash down in Bowling Green, KY. The tour of the Plant was eye opening and the paint facility was incredible.
What will the next Generation bring to the table? Engineering and Design changes are the norm as all great things either evolve or go by the wayside.
The Corvette is here to stay and GM has made some major commitments...buckle up your seatbelt as we are all in for one heckuva ride.

~Several Corvette truck loads arriving every week...

Some of my deliveries this week...

~Brian C. of Latham, New York (up by Albany) had been on my ZR1 list for a long time so when his number came up he was thrilled. Back in 2014 he ordered a Yellow with Red interior corvette for museum Delivery so we had never met. His new ZR1 had to be ordered out of the Criswell CHEVROLET store in Thurmont as I filled their ZR1 allocations as well as the Gaithersburg store. Our Thurmont store is just a few miles below Gettysburg, PA. Thursday Brian took a short 1 hour flight and landed at 7am at BWI (Baltimore) and then took an Uber to Thurmont.
I live 50 miles South of Thurmont so I left my house at 7am and arrived at 8am to check and make sure it was all cleaned and filled with gas for his 365 mile drive home. Thursday we met for the first time in 5 years that he has been my customer and we had a good time talking Corvettes...of course.
Brian chose Race Yellow Tintcoat with Spice Red Interior. Equipment list: 7 Spd manual transmission, 3ZR Pkg, D30 color combo over ride, Red Calipers, Carbon Flash Wheels, Carbon flash painted mirrors and much more.

Above picture is when the ZR1 first arrived.

~So I had a really tough customer lined up after driving 50 miles South from our Thurmont Chevrolet store on Thursday...myself. I took a page out of Doug Fehan’s book and I Factory ordered a 2019 Stingray Corvette Cpe with 7 Spd manual transmission 6 weeks ago.
It arrived last Tuesday when I was flying down to the Corvette Museum in KY to surprise my museum delivery customers from NC. So I had to wait until Thursday of this week to trade in my 2015 Impala and take delivery of what will be my every day Car...not just a car as the Corvette is one great ride. No sooner did I drive off the lot a thunderous rainstorm had me testing the Weather mode and my driving capabilities. Here is the Equipment list on my 19th Corvette that I have owned in the 41 years that I have been selling Corvettes.
Elkhart Lake Blue Metallic with code 198 Black Interior which includes sueded inserts and microfiber on dash, console and door panels and gloss exposed carbon fiber instrument panel, Custom blue stitching, Competition Seats, CF badge Pkg, Performance exhaust, Polished Aluminum Motorsports Wheels, wheel locks, splash guards, 3LT Pkg and Red Seat Belts.

My 19 Corvettes broken down in numbers:
~9 of the 18 have been Blue. 2 Black, 1 White, 5 Red, 1 Orange,1 Yellow.
~15 of the 19 have been stick shift manual transmissions.
~8 of the 19 have been Convt's.

C1~2
C2~2
C3~0
C4~5
C5~1
C6~5
C7~4

C8~ pending...
19 total Corvettes that I have owned.

~Tom P. of Ellicott City, MD since 2014 has been directly responsible for 19 Corvette sales for me...8 of them for him or his son. His family used to buy all their Corvettes from Malcolm Konner CHEVROLET back in the 80’s and 90’s. Tom tracked me down 6 years ago and the rest is history. Saturday Tom called me as it was time to trade in his 8,800 mile Grand Sport for a new 19 Sebring Orange Grand Sport. Equipment list 1LT Pkg, Auto transmission, CF hood stripe, CF badge Pkg, Black Wheels and CF painted mirrors. Monday Tom came in to do the deal and I removed the taller spoiler pieces off his trade and switched them on to his new GS. Tom and many of his family members are in my C8 deal folder list.

~Tim O. of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida called me up two weeks ago about buying an in stock 2019 Corvette Grand Sport Cpe. Tim narrowed it down to this Elkhart Lake Blue with Black Interior Grand Sport. This is Tim’s 15th Corvette and only his 2nd new one!
In 1975 at the age of 18 he bought a 1974 Corvette and that’s what started his Corvette Fever with no cure. They flew up Saturday and toured Wash, DC and then Monday morning took an Uber to Criswell. I had them pointed South to Florida inside an hour.
Equipment list: 1LT Pkg and Auto transmission.

~Rick and Prema R. Of Hurricane, West Virginia read about me on various forums so they reached out to me 6 weeks ago to place their order for their 2nd Corvette. I gave them a sight unseen trade value for their 2005 Red Corvette Convt and the deal was made.
We met for the first time last week at the National Corvette Museum in KY. This past week they drove up the 360 miles and stayed overnight close by, even ate at my favorite restaurant in town, Firebirds! I got in early this morning and used Adam’s Polishes spray
detailed their new Red 2019 Grand Sport and they arrived early for their 9am appt.
Their new Torch Red Grand Sport is a Car Show all by itself. Looks Stunning with the Adrenaline Red interior and Heritage Pkg stripes, White Center stripe, Red calipers, Auto transmission, chrome wheels, Navigation/PDR, 2LT Pkg, Red seatbelts and much more.

I went over the whole car and they were headed 360 miles Southwest to their home. Two of the nicest people and I'm sure to see them again.
In Rick and Prema's own words..."After a frustrating experience with trying to buy a 2018 new Grandsport from another dealership we decided to give Mike Furman a call. We had done a lot of research on dealerships and Corvette specialist. All that research kept coming back to Mike Furman. I had never met Mike but after 5 minutes on the phone, I felt like I had known him my entire life. After 20 minutes on the phone the new car was ordered and a trade in value was given for my C6. Amazing! This is how ordering a new car should be. Mike kept us up to date on the progression of our build and answered quickly our emails and phone calls. The new Grand Sport was ordered and on the dealership’s lot in 4weeks. Amazing!! Mike is a true professional with over 40 plus years of selling Corvette and other brands of cars. We drove 5 1/2 hours to Criswell to pick up our new Grand Sport and would do it again knowing that Mike would be taking care of us. Peace of mind is the key and my wife and I certainly experienced this with Mike and his team."

My gift!!! Thank you.

~Stacey T. splits his time between Katy, Texas and Minnesota. He owned a 2019 Grand Sport and the more he thought about it he chose the ZR1 allocation was the right way for him to take advantage of his Corvette enthusiasm...which runs deep!
Last month when I was at Spring Mtn’s Track in Nevada he made a point to stop by to see me as he was there for his Corvette GS Owner’s school. So we had dinner together at The Clubhouse. Stacey Factory ordered his Long Beach Red/Kalahari
ZR1 to be drop shipped at his local Chevrolet dealer in Katy, TX for Courtesy delivery. Equipment list: 7 Spd manual trans, chrome badges, chrome wheels and 3ZR Pkg.

~Jim Z. of Mt Airy, Maryland stopped in to see me 6 weeks ago to specifically factory order the Antonio Garcia C7R Driver’s Series Pkg for his 2019 Grand Sport Cpe...and it’s his very first Corvette!
His wife Maureen knew but his two kids, Ethan and Elise has no idea. His son Ethan is a major Sports Car fan and knew all about the drivers series Grand Sports. Well yesterday was delivery day and the 4 of them went to the local IHOP for breakfast.
Ethan said let’s stop by Criswell since we are so close...boy was he shocked when he read my Sold Placard in the window stating his Father as the owner. Fun was certainly had by all including myself! Equipment list: Visible Carbon fiber ground effects Pkg, Auto transmission, cargo mat, 3LT Pkg and much more. I have a feeling this is one Corvette that will always be in the family garage. #8 of the PDA C7R Antonio Garcia series Corvette!
In their own words...
Mike,

"Today was a very special day for Maureen, Ethan, Elise and I. You made this all possible with your sincere enthusiasm and professionalism in making this my best vehicle purchasing experience. Thank you so much my friend!"

Regards, Jim Z

The Frank Class Corvette Barn Find and throwback section...please post up this weeks favorite pic just like Frank used to do.

Friday I stopped by Tony's restoration shop. They were about to drop the body on frame for a 63 split window.

Thanks as usual. Liked the yellow ZL1 look alike- I’m guessing it was not 1 of the 2 originals.

Default Great writeup thread on so many levels

I will have to be a multiple poster on this thread all week long...... there are so many things to digest here!

Brian’s ZR1 write up was one for the ages. That is not the first D30 override yellow C7 that you have delivered though. The last one was a Spice Red yellow vert top with Spice Red interior.

Congrats on your 2019 Stingray! That blue stitching really makes it. Nicely optioned, and the chrome wheels pop.

The interior pics come off as more of a dark gray than true black.

Kudos to the sales rep who helped you wade through the option list ordering process. Hopefully the Criswell sales rep. was as thorough with his delivery experience as he was with his sales experience!

That car is subdued, yet Elegant (yes, as in “John”!).

Your Stingray delivery to yourself has to be the first time that I have ever seen the last name of your delivering customer on the Furman-Criswell windshield new owner delivery placard.

The DealerRater survey of the selling and delivery experience with the dealership and salesperson should be very interesting indeed.

And now there is room in your garage for your new arrival.

19 Corvettes now owned by you with this ordered 2019 C7. What a set up for your 20th owned Corvette...... for the model year 2020!!!

WHEW......

Congrats on the new Stingray. Comp seats with the manual trans will make it a great driver Corvette. Cool touch with the red belts.
Must have been tough parting with your '67.

So many great pictures to choose from.

I remember those Nip Chip clear acrylic clip on stone guards.
