Default Newbie from San Diego

Hello all. Well I’m 43 years old and have been a Mustang guy since I was 17. It’s not that I didn’t like Corvettes I just could never afford one . I’ve had a little bit of success at my job and I’ve loved the C7’s from day 1 and you only live once (LIVE1NC), so I decided to pull the trigger.

About a month ago I purchased a 2019 Sebring Orange Grand Sport. I love the way this car looks and the Z06 was out of my price range. Plus for a car that I’m gonna drive pretty much daily, why would I need 650 hp? probably saved myself a ticket or two. The Grand Sport is plenty fast.

as far as mods I’m just planning cosmetic stuff. I already bought and installed some ACS rock guards and also bought a stage 3 spoiler and wickerbill upgrade. Problem is I bought the upgrade from corvette mods before I knew any better. It’s already been a nightmare. I’m just hoping it eventually shows up. I also bought the black stinger stripe for my hood. I love how it looks on these cars. Lastly I’m debating on buying the diffusers from ACS. I think they look good, but I just don’t know about drilling holes in a brand new car.

well all I have to say is that I absolutely love this car. It makes me happy to sit in it every day. What an experience. It’s like sitting in a trophy!

Bobby

I can assure you, you can get plenty of tickets without having to splurge for a Z06. Haven't gotten any myself yet (knock on wood).

So true! I never realized it until buying this car. Mustangs are a dime a dozen, but I still like them, but the Vette is such a great experience. I feels so different, it handles so good, it snaps necks when I drive by and people look at you different. Some look like they are hating, others look like they are envious. Either way I am grateful to have accomplished be able to buy one!

Big Corvette event next weekend, Sunday May 19th, in your neighborhood by the water, Plastic Fantastic:

Should be a good time. I’ll have our 2017 Grand Sport there.

About 6 months ago I got my first speeding ticket in maybe 30 years. It's not that I don't speed, I have been lucky. Anyways, I was NOT getting on it, I was just not paying attention. I just made a left turn onto a divided road. 2 lanes north, and 2 south. I was not paying attention, and all of a sudden a Sheriff officer lights up his car like a Christmas tree. He was going south. He makes a U-turn, and I pull over. He walks around by Vette, and says," Do you have any excuse for doing 71 in a 35-mile zone...Except that it is a ZO6". I replied that I did not, which was the truth.
Bottom line it cost me $250, and 8 points. I am much more careful now!
