Thumping when doing slow tight radius turns
I test drove a 2014 Z51 yesterday. I noticed that when doing a slow u-turn, or pulling out of a parking space with the wheel turned tight there seems to be a thumping sensation in the front end. It goes away when the wheel is straightened. I was told that that is the wide sticky tires causing this, not to worry. This is the only time I experienced this. Other than that the car handles beautifully and goes around turns like its on rails. Anybody else experience this?

It's normal when wheels are turned to max. There's actually a name for it (or more what causes it) but it escapes me right now.

Mostly only does it when tires are cold. It's not even a Vette thing, not really. Mostly just a performance tires thing. Perfectly normal

Mine stopped doing it when I switched to the Michelin A/S Run Flats

Perfectly normal. If you are looking to buy the car, don't let that issue be a reason for avoiding the purchase.

You must have missed the "what causes it" part of my statement, as in Ackerman Effect.

even though i knew what it was, i was mildy alarmed the first couple times =] its no big deal at all. figure out what tires you like (most dont like the oem tires too much, which are good but not great) and then just get on with life.
get out and drive.
get out and drive.
