200mph STILL eludes me...
#2
After watching quite a few you tube videos on cars loosing control at 150mph and above and the resulting shovels to remove what’s left I have lost the desire to max out mine, on a track yes. Not making any judgement of the OP just reminded me of a recent story.

200 MPH has been on my bucket list for a long time as well. My closest was at the Kennedy Space Center 3 mile runway in a previous bone stock C7 Grand Sport.

Nice run but well short of that 200mph.

Great video to watch, kind of dangerous to do.

The biggest risk is a wheel failure or tire blow out. At that speed you’re just along for the ride if anything goes wrong. A little bump in the road or a rock is all it takes. Maybe do an inspection run first.

I had a gopro mounted on the steering column set to take blast pictures, 3 stills every 5 seconds, for the entire run. I turned it on before I left the starting line, this way I did not have to worry about trying to hold a camera in one hand while steering at 180 mph.

Making a top speed run with one hand on the steering wheel...a lot can happen.

OP was your car a 3LZ? or 3LT? That stupid wicker bill imo is the reason these cars dont do so well on top end. Im actually surprised the dodge hellcats can pull these cars on top end.
Maybe it has to do with the shitty a8 transmission as well. That ZF A8 in the hellcat cars and other euro cars is magic.

Would i have to take side splitters off as well as wing to try for 200? I would imagine removing stage 3 splitters and wing would help I can't remove the sides riveted on..
