NPP is the most desirable item on the options list, IMO, and a must-have on any C7 that I own. I'm not a lover of loud exhaust, but NPP when open makes music, not noise--just the right tone and volume to match the car's persona. It's behavior is adjustable via the Driving Mode or in the vehicle settings. I like Sport mode so I have it selected in the vehicle settings to deploy at all times and in any Driving Mode. For me it's the perfect balance from idle to WOT, and I particularly like the fact the it switches off when at cruise to eliminate droning, which will weigh on my nerves rapidly if present.

maybe mine is broken, but the NPP performance exhaust when set to the permanent "annoying" setting really sounds WOW! when starting the car. then cool for 1,2, 3 on the A8, then the car hits 35mph, and the NPP valves seem to close again and go into stealth mode. if i set it into a permanent setting i want it to stay in that setting, even at speeds above 35mph.

sooo, maybe mine is the exception that proves the rule that the Npp is cool all the time, but corsa and borla make multiple options of exhausts that are tuned from the factory to the sound you prefer, and stay that way, permanently, no moving parts to gum up. Oh, and on the way to trade my c6 GS in, the valve on one side of the exhaust stuck. whattya expect for a moving flapper valve that is in superheated air from the cats with all sorts of carbonized gunk hitting it every time/all the time the car is running.

It is if you like the sound. Either you do, or you don't. If you don't like the sound you just saved $1,200 or so. Don't let others foster their likes and dislikes on to you. Act like a man and decide for yourself! I assume you are a man. A woman wouldn't ask. < joking.
Personally I like it.

Performance exhaust should be standard on all Corvettes.

I couldn't agree more. I had the performance exhaust on my C6 and now a Corsa on my C7 and I much prefer the Corsa.

Yes, to me it is a MUST, should not be an option. It is a Corvette not a Buick.

Absolutely had to have. The top three of a four item list I had when searching around for a Corvette as "Must Haves" were:

- NPP Exhaust
- MRC
- Z51 package
- 2LT (3LT preferred)

I got what I wanted!

Speaking as someone who has had super loud cars for the past ten years or so, this adjustable exhaust on the Corvette feels like absolute space-age tech. I had a 2013 BOSS 302, and with the side baffles removed, that thing was a screamer. Huuuuuge loud nasty exhaust roar, the car sounded bad ***. However, when trying to enter a neighborhood late at night, it was...less so. If I wanted to quiet it down, that involved putting the baffles back in, which would involve getting under the car. My GT500, I had Stainless Works, the loudest option. It sounded awesome and loud...all the time.

Now, I can just twist a ****, or pull the exhaust out of Track in the vehicle settings, and go quiet if conditions warrant it. Technology is amazing.

Besides the great sound, the 4 larger pipes look great and make the non NPP pipes look puny.

A must have!!

I like it a lot. When I get a phone call or navigation commands come up the exhaust goes quiet and then back to where it was before after the call or command is over. Plus, it don't like letting the entire city know when I'm data logging.

I didn't bother ordering it on mine, I just felt like $1200 was a steep price tag for just 5hp and a slightly different sound (that I wouldn't even hear 95% of the time when I'm driving as I like to listen to music) The tips do look better, but not $1200 better. But I know I'm in the minority here. I'm not worried about resale since I plan on keeping my C7 forever.

I have the base Stingray without NPP. I find it a bit too quite at certain times i..e A8 in manual mode when decelerating with engine vacuum, but WOT is glorious and cruising is very pleasurable. I like the way the exhaust 'huffs and puffs' as its normal characteristic sound.

While not an apples-to-apples comparison, my friend just got a Z06 with NPP and I don't like the sound at all. Touring seems even quieter than the base Stingray exhaust, and the sport and touring settings are too loud and does not have the 'huff and puff' that I like.

My suggestion is a test drive of both setups to see what your preference might be.

What is your question here need to be more clear on it. I think I have modded my car more are as much as anyone in here. If you are asking is it worth it as a money item to what horse power you are getting from the cost to sound NO it not at all. But if you are looking to get a sound from the car over all the stock vettes out here then yea it is.. Robert

the Corvette I rented once sounded like a prius compared to the performance exhaust. Definitely worth it if you are not planning on switching it later

Sounded like a Prius? Exaggerate much?

Don't splurge for the NPP if you want it to sound like a Malibu. Get it if you want it to sound more like a Corvette.
