I’ve never used track mode except for about 3 seconds twice by accident.

Still bent 4 and replaced 2.

’17 GS 9000 miles of “Sunday driving”.

These OEM wheels are simply put a disgrace to our C7s. Cheaply made cast wheels that are not made for the loads seen by our high HP applications coupled with runflat tires. We have also had ZR1 customers cracking wheels as well so its a problem for all these vehicles.

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...r1-wheels.html

Lots of guys dont even know their wheels are cracked till they are taken off and sure enough cracked.

If anyone needs help with wheels capable and worthy of our vettes we have some incredible wheels that are all forged in the USA using the best APP forgings. This isnt a sale thread so not gonna say anymore than that and you can reach me anytime.

I think this is exactly to the point. Many owners don't even know they have bent wheels until they change tires or they experience tire pressure leak. I think it is time for all to at least jack up your car and spin the wheel and look at the inside of the rim to see if it spins true!

I only have 3,200 miles on my 19 GS and so far the wheels are fine. I drive in Tour mode most of the time. The roads in Missouri rank from really nice to OH S**t. Drove through South Western Iowa and hit more potholes than I could count. So far so good. I had the base model alignment specs applied to the car for better tire wear. There is no way to prove it but there is a chance that it also reduces some of the stress on the inside of the wheels.

Had you noticed any vibration/shimmy or loss of tire pressure prior to going in for tire change?

That is why I think cracked rims are a bigger issue that bent.
Most people can not feel when a wheel is slightly bent, but can tell when then have a flat tire.

As much as I love Ron Fellows, driving in track mode on the street is not the only reason this has been a problem. And what about riding their curbs around the track in track mode? Is that a major no no too?

Think about it - - - in a blunt impact the tire and wheel are affected before the suspension even moves!

No, I don't use track mode on the street and haven't hit any pot holes.

I have a 2016 Z06, 6500 miles. For bent wheels I have to say no, until I change out my brake pads next week, and I take a good look at them. But does anyone know what the run-out spec. is?

My Z51 wheels ended up having bending/cracking issues on my car with MRC. Previous owner had multiple issues and I had 2. After I swapped to the base wheels and tire pressures it isn't an issue.

Shouldn't you be driving a Porsche Spyder?

2017 Z06 with 5,000+ miles.

No cracked or bent wheels that I know of.

No vibrations or loss of air pressure.

I don't know what the spec actually is buy mine with only 1,700 miles (bringing it home) the worst wheel had a variance of .40 1000. Someone else thought you would start to feel .80

I've actually clipped grapefruit sized speed bumps which pinched my tires on the driver's side but the wheels were fine. Had to replace both tires $1,000 because they had cracks inside but no damage to the wheels. I drive in Sport mode 98% of the time. Of course the roads in AZ are pretty good. Not many potholes.
