No, not even close..If someone builds a Mustang or Honda Civic to have 700HP is it considered a supercar?

Okay. And why isnt it a supercar?
Those are build cars. Its not the same.
A 750HP C7 ZR1 isnt build. Its stock with full warranty and a +$120,000 price point.
Top 10 of all time at the Nurburgring.

Speaking personally, I'd say no. It's a world class sports car, but supercars are a breed apart. I had an opportunity to drive a Lamborghini Murcielago around a race track last year, and it's just...it was over the top in virtually every category. The sound, the fury, the ferocity, the explosive acceleration, that sound, oh lord that sound.

Its a mass produced car first of all. The performance is there but it does not have the price tag to justify the title of a supercar. It is not exotic. In a lot of places its a dime in a dozen. Dont get me wrong, its a beautiful car but it is not a supercar.

The C7 is a Super Car, but not a Supercar. The ZR1 is a Supercar IMO.
No telling what the C8 is, not yet anyway.
= Super Car!
= SUPERCAR !

The Porsche 918 set a 7min13sec at the Nurburgring
The car costs $1,000,000
Its a "hyper" supercar
The C7 Z06 set the same time of 7min13sec at the Nurburgring
Costs around $80,000
C7 ZR1 Nurburgring time is 7min04sec
Starts at $120,000
And than ppl tell me the C7 and C8 arent supercars lol.
The Viper ACR is a supercar... Than the C7 ZR1 is a supercar too.

sometimes "super" isn't just defined by power and lap times
I agree the C7 Z06/ZR1 blows the doors off some of the "supercars" out there

It will always be a "Chevrolet" no matter what else it may someday prove to be.

Seems like to be a so called supercar it is based more on price than performance. The Corvette certainly holds its own lookswise and performance wise.

To me there is a difference between a supercar and an exotic.
Lambos, Ferrari's ect. are exotic supercars. (Limited Production)
The C7 Z06 and ZR1 are just supercars.
How are they not? Lol

Nope.

To you it could be whatever you want. However to the majority its not a supercar. The reason why its called a supercar is because of its scarcity and exoticness which the corvette does not possess. Its also too easily attainable.

I think it is approaching the supercar status but may not quite be there yet.
Perhaps the C8 will.
