Default Anyone else had this problem?

2014 M7 vert — 14,000 one owner gently driven miles. No problems until check engine light on, gear display gone. Rev match not working with gear not displaying — not recognizing what gear it was in. Dealer contacted GM Tech: advised to replace gear sensor and magnet. Both located on top of transmission at rear of vehicle. Had to drop transmission. 15 hr. job equated to ~ $500 in parts + $2,000 labor.

Are you still under warranty?

I had something similar. There was a code logged. Dealership was able to reset the code and all had been well since. If it was a latched code, then specific work would need to be done. I was fortunate.

I had had no gear indication
back up camera
cruise control
rev match
amd a couple other things I don’t recall.

Ain't electronics great... when they work?! Hopefully it is merely a glitch as with JeepS. Many of various sorts have been reported over the years, never to return after a "reboot." All the best.

Threw three codes and they claimed they couldn’t re-set them, so had to ask GM Tech for advice. Don’t like going to the dealership, but nobody else locally would touch it. Hopefully, I wasn’t snookered. Have driven it twice for a total of about 50 miles since — so far, so good. Knock on wood!

Hope whatever the dealer did does in fact fix the problem for a long time.

Must be the black connector on top of transmission in this pic:

Might be able to drop the exhaust and get your hands in there

Likely all the bits contained in part #14 and up thru part #4 in the diagram above. I don't think you can replace any of that without dropping the transmission

My reverse cam and reverse lights stopped working, but everything else was fine. I had no codes. Thus only part #15 (red arrow) which is the reverse sensor needed to be replaced. I did it myself on jack stands, very easy and super cheap thankfully.
