Purpose of this switch?
I had no luck finding the answer in the manual - what does the off switch on the right do (I was afraid to turn it off because I could not find a corresponding on switch )?

It turns your interior motion detector/alarm on and off. For instance, if you have a convertible with the top down and you push the button as you exit the vehicle and someone reaches inside the car, an alarm goes off. Yeah, thought it was weird I could not find it in the manual either. Stumbled on a post around here somewhere.

It is the rain off switch, this allows the car to be driven in the rain

It’s a good idea to push it if someone stays in the car and you go into a store. With the passive lock ON they can set it off 😏

Press it when you leave your wife in the car and don't want her yelling at you when you get back.

What is the timing on this? Do you push it before you shut off the car or after? A lot of time my wife stays in the car while I fill it up, and with passive locking it locks when I get out.

If you turn it off, it will turn back on with the next ignition cycle (no timer however)

Thanks guys, I've always wondered how to do this. Every time I leave my mom in the car it goes off, she is always fidgeting with something while sitting and it goes off. L8R ZFLASH

Towing alarm disablement. It's in your Owners Manual.

Unless there's a reason to let it lock with someone in the car when set to passive lock, there's another option.
When you open the door to get out, press and Hold the unlock button until it beeps..
That shuts off the passive locking.
It will stay Off until the next engine start, or ACC mode or Service mode is used..
I do that when mine is in the garage so I can get into the car if I need to, or with someone in the car and I get out to get gas, etc.

It's actually the intrusion/inclination detector alarm. Might make it easier to look up in the OM.
When pushing the button, it lights momentarily, and a message appears on the DIC saying "motion detector off."
