Default Mystery chime

I shut off my 2019 Stingray, open the door, and hear a single chime. Huh? How to turn that off?

The car is off. The DIC says Start engine to view settings.

I turned the chime volume setting down all the way, but still get mystery chimes, including after turning off the engine and opening the door. What does that mean and how can I stop it?

Another thread's running w/ similar 'mystery chime'.
Turned out owner had accidentally set his headlights 'on' vs 'auto'.
When shut-down w/ HLs 'on', caused chime, a reminder to shut 'em off.
Mystery solved, and interestingly another member posted claiming same issue.
Upon checking, HLs were (inadvertently?) put in on/manual.

Check position of your HL switch, may solve the mystery immediately.

Let us know what you find out is the source of your chime.

I checked the headlight control on the left stall just now. It’s set to Auto. Thanks for idea.

My going theory is that it’s letting me know there is a msg on the DIC, but I’m not sure.
My 2014 Stingray never had this issue. This is my 2-week old 2019 Stingray. Hope somebody can solve this.
I’ll let y’all know. Thanks.

My 2019 M7 now chimes every time you push the start button with the message "Start engine to view settings"

This happens pretty consistently:

I shut off the car.
DIC says “Start engine to view application”.
DIC goes blank.
I open the door.
2 seconds later I get a polite single chime.

Are you sure you do not have an extra FOB in the corvette or left a singe FOB. There is a setting not to chime if either is the case. I like to keep an extra FOB in the corvette in case I lose the one on me. I can always use my phone to unlock.
Yes, one time I was away and lost my keys. I was at cedar point. Lucky for me I went back to the last ride and the attendant had them...they fell on the floor - I was an indoor 3D ride.

One thing to check...

If the DIC is set to display certain functions such as tire pressure, oil life, g-force bubble gauge; the DIC will warn you the car has to be running for those "applications" to work. Maybe that is the chime you are hearing. If the DIC is set to show AUDIO (Currently playing) or INFO (speedometer), it won't warn you because they work even if the car is not running. I found this out one time when I had the car showing tire pressure when I shut it down.

What was the last thing you had the DIC set to show?

My 19Z does exactly the same thing as the OP. Happens about 2/3 seconds after you shutdown and open the door. I'm also curious

Nope. Only one fob; in my pants pocket. I also went thru the settings and turned off all the chime warnings I could find, as well as the volume down to minimum. Thanks.

While driving, I usually keep the DIC set to Performance > digital speedometer, with the 4 digital gauges on the right.

When I turn the car off, the DIC warns: “Start engine to view application”, then goes blank.

I open the the door to exit, and the chime chimes in (sorry) 1-2 seconds after that, when I’m halfway out the door.

Pretty sure that's normal. My 2014 didn't do that but my 2019 does.

You might try setting it to INFO ( showing speedometer) before turning the car off and see if the chime still happens.
