Default Am I the only one ????? ZR1

Am I the only one that thinks the ZR1 has a bit too many things added to it.I actually prefer the cleaner lines of the Stingray.

Well, to get 80K more for the ZR1 GM had to add some stuff. Yes. I agree. Way, way over done, IMO.

I like everything but the high wing that comes with the track package. It serves a functional purpose but I personally think its ugly. Doesn't look like it belongs on the car.

I like the clean look of my Z51 convertible. I even removed the Stingray emblems and Corvette script and added a Z06 grille to clean it up more. For my taste, the look of the coupe is too busy and the wide bodies more so. The ZR1 looks like a little kid's Hot Wheels or Transformer toy.

It's the same reason that I haven't sprung for a GS or Z06. Great cars, but just too busy for my liking. Sometimes less is more...

You're not alone Gary, I also prefer the clean simple look of my Stingray over any of the wide body C7s.

i AGREE with you. i sure hope they don't carry over with that type of approach with the C8

Agree. I like looking at the widebody cars in pictures, but I wouldn't want to drive one every day. I found the perfect Stingray for me, and bought it. I hadn't even heard the term "narrowbody" until I had joined this board. Car looks plenty low and wide enough as is for me.

Everyone has their own personal taste. I love my GS. Wide *** perfect. ZR1 a little over the top for me . Hate the wing and the front bumper I know they have a function for the track.

Driving my stingray C6, we went on a drive with the local club. My wife was never too impressed with my car, but she saw a GS and told me, "Now THAT'S sexy!" Needless to say, my C7 is a GS. As far as the ZR-1, I think it is perfect. It wasn't made to blend in, it was made to stand out in every crowd. I absolutely love them, but I don't think I would like it on a daily basis.

Nothing wrong with the ZR1 or the Stingray or the Grand Sport or any of the other lovely ladies. I would not kick any one them out of my garage. When the ZR1 came out I was on the fence now that I have seen a couple in person I dig them a lot. Big wing or small no matter...

Saw one today maxed out with all the carbon fiber and high wing etc. Black on everything. Only $150,000 plus the $14,999 dealer "I'm proud to sell this" sticker markup.

Sorry, it looked like the plastic/carbon fiber add on queen of the world. 13/19 MPG city/highway was a really big selling point per the salesman.

When my oil change was done, I drove my 2014 happily home.

I hear that statement a lot from other Vette enthusiast. I agree the ZR1 is too busy for my liking. Personally I think the widebody GS or Z06 is the sweet spot of all the C7 models.

I like the widebody, I dislike the front bumper (what's left of it after so many holes), and dislike the high rise cowl hood.

I have the Z51 carbon flash spoiler on my Stingray from the factory. I then installed the stinger stripe along with a carbon flash splitter and side skirts and now I have the car I wanted. It has plenty of bling without going over the top.

The base C7 looks weak and plain compared to the wide-body versions. Since the C5 z06 came out, all of the base models look very bland by comparison to the higher-tier models.

Default I get it....

it's a "busy" looking Vette but it sure justifies most/all of it (large wings on a Vette are a reach appearance wise but in this case there is cause)

"weak and plain"? That's a bit of hyperbole, maybe if I get some bigger wings the other Vette owners will stop throwing sand in my face! I wish I looked that "weak and plain."

The GS/Z06 is the sweet spot, just the right amount of juice, the stingray is a bit too plain while the zr1 looks a bit too crazy (just my opinion...).
