Brain fart...
Okay boys & girls...
Wife & I went to dinner last night at a restaurant we frequent. At the last minute we took my '17 GS. My daily driver is a pickup and without thinking (brain fart) I pulled into a parking spot and nailed the concrete bumper. I scraped up the flexible neoprene apron. Any suggestions on where to get another? I've looked around and I'm not sure what this item is actually called. It's held in place with screws, so it's replaceable and I'm sure that it's meant to be replaced, just by the construction. I'm too type A to not clean it up so I'm trying to find one.
By the way, I've had Corvettes for 25 years and this is the first time I have ever "curbed" the front end.

Well, look at the bright side. Without the "poverty splitter" there's a real good chance much more serious damage would have been done to your fascia.
I have a Stingray and a few weeks ago was lucky enough to find a used one in excellent shape for $50. So now I feel a lot more confident pulling into curbed parking spaces.
Consider sanding and painting yours temporarily until you find someone who "upgraded" and will be happy to darned near give you one. They're out there...

replacement cost for that splitter is about $140 shipped. You can buy them on Amazon.

I am sorry to see the damage, but we all do these things. Fortunately the fix is easy and relatively inexpensive.

Melting Slicks
Sand mine on the bottom to remove the chaff created from driveways. Will replace it eventually but sanding it and painting flat black seems to do the trick every year or so.

Carbon fiber splitter? that would have been a really expensive miscalculation!

You are not alone brother. Many of us has had that same thing happen. As stated the good thing is it's a cheap fix, and much cheaper than having to paint the lower section of the bumper.

Remembering to turn on front cameras while parking is also a good idea

That's a sick feeling I know well. Not yet on the C7, but on my previous cars. Amazed you went 25 years until it happened. What got me the last time was angled parking.

Ha, driving pickups and SUVs gets you into a lot of bad habits when it comes to parking. I drove SUVs or pickups the vast majority of my driving life. Had to adjust myself when I got my C7 2 years ago. No damage to splitter yet, but it has touched a curb or two when I was getting use to car. But I scrape the bottom nearly every day I drive it getting off my driveway. I think if I hit the street at a 43.6 degree angle it doesn't touch, otherwise a mild scratch every time.

Took a sanding block to knock off roughness, threw a little tire shine on it, wiped it off, good to go.

At least it is the poverty splitter and not one of the more expensive ones. I bought mine at my local Chevy dealer - they gave me a decent price and no shipping cost.

2015 C7 of the Year Finalist
I have a 2014 and a front camera that I use religiously when I front park. My friend has a 2015 and he has the same type of front camera I have. I influenced his decision I guess.
