Default Ron Fellows Spring Mountain fun for wifes or not?

Have my two days set for July. My wife is considering coming along. For those of you who brought your wife how did they like it? How did it work out?

My wife had a blast. She sat in on all of the classroom stuff and did a ride along with the instructors for each of my sessions. I'm fortunate that she's a car nut so that helped. There are things a non-car person could do to occupy their time and Vegas is only an hour away.

My wife also had a great time. She sat in on the classes and rode with an instructor every time I was on the track.

I took my lady friend & she had a blast, she rode along with the instructors when I was driving. She starting critiquing my driving & giving me notes as my instructor was making comments on my drives. As a side note, there were several ladies taking the class with the men, some ladies were out driving the men. Fun for all.

My wife also sat in on all the classes, rode with the instructor whenever possible, got a ride out to the lane change exercise, and got 2 hot laps with one of the instructors on the last day - COS + third day.

She had a blast!

We then spent a couple days in Las Vegas and caught a show.

My wife took the class, too. No reason to have "her" sit on the sidelines. Put her behnd the wheel of her own Vette.

If she is going to do a ride-along then just make sure to have her take some motion sickness pills. Even if she doesn't get car sick, you get tossed around unlike normal driving and experiencing higher then normal g-loads so after a few laps many turn green. Doesn't happen to drivers, just passengers. When I first started instructing I had it happen to me. Being sick will ruin the experience, so better safe then sorry.

Just went last month and my wife loved it. She rode along with the instructors every time I went out onto the track. If she is not into that, there is a very nice lake with a beach and lounge chairs she could relax at as well as a pool.

My wife came with me both times, sat in class most of the time and used the facilities. Spent extra time in Vegas both times also, shows, great restaurants, etc. If she (or you) likes wine, check out the Pahrump Winery, about 5 minute drive from the track, they have daily tastings and the Symphony Restaurant there is excellent and fairly priced.

Oh, where to start?

How many do you have? ;P

Why not ask her if it may be something she may like? Heck, why not ask her if she wants to participate? I know I am approaching the question differently from 99% of those on this forum.

My wife told me to schedule some time off. Told me she had something to do that I might enjoy.
She was right. We both had a blast, and another experience we can share for the rest of our life.

But it will put a damper on your visit to the Chicken Ranch in Pahrump . . .

I agree, Symphony Restaurant is a must visit for dinner. The service and food were excellent.

Take your wife! Mine loved the experience in the classroom and on track with the instructors. She said her only disappointment was wishing she could go faster! I married well!

Mine also loved it. She rode with an instructor on all the track sessions. It was a real eye-opener for her in terms of how capable these cars are and how fast one can go through the corners. Her grip on the "oh **** bar" has lessened significantly since then.

There is no extra charge for that, and guest meals are also included at no extra charge.
