I have had two Mustangs (a 2012 GT and a 2012 GT 500). I liked both of them and really liked the GT500. It was an amazing car to drive. Wish I had it back. I have had 5 Corvettes (64,77, 84, 15, and 19). The C7s are a quantum leap in performance and handling over the older models IMO. You will really enjoy your new car. However, I think the new GT 500 is going to be an awesome machine as well. Will be interesting to see how they stack up in performance against the Z06 and ZR1 cars.

I too am a Ford guy. Look in my driveway. The C7 Corvette is the only GM product I would consider owning nowdays. Its is a different vehicle from the other cars on the road. My 16 is my third Vette, previous two were 73 Vettes. I traded in my 14 Mustang GT Premium for the 16 Vette. No comparison between the cars. My son has a GT350 and It does not compared to the Vette IMO, not in his opinion.

Congratulations! You won’t regret it. I had 3 Mustangs prior to my 17Z. The C7 is fantastic 👍🏻

A fellow North Carolinian. Congrats! I am in a similar situation as I grew upon up a Ford guy. I have been lusting for a 1969 / 1970 Boss 302 (really wanted the 429) since I was a kid. When it came time to buy a car I opted for a new GS being built now. No regrets.

It is nice to know some of you can relate coming from Fords. I am definitely not prejudiced towards any mfg, okay Tesla," just kidding" but seriously I have been blessed to have been able to enjoy all the Mustangs which included a 01 gt which I traded for an 02 Camaro z28 because my buddy gave me a taste of his 02 trans am WS6, then a 01 Bullitt, 08 Bullitt, 12 Boss 302, 15 50th anniver, 17 gt350, 19 Bullitt.

Yes, I really liked the last Bullitt but I went through separation anxiety after the gt350 so that's where I reconnected with the GS. Internet propaganda over oil usage which I was seeing on my car as well made me believe that I was going to be the next engine victim so I traded it.

I am debating over the extended warranty which I never buy but this is not a cheap car. I just hate stacking warranty. How do you all feel about it? Curious what it will cost 3 yrs from now. Hell with my history I never keep one long enough but this one feels different.

Definitely looking into Ron Fellows as it looks like a lot of fun for the money....Ford was kind enough to provide a one day school in Utah when I bought the boss 302 and gt350.

To me, Mustang is not in the same category as a Corvette.

Nothing wrong with being a "ford guy" and owning a chevy C7 as far as iam concerned. guilty as charged here embrace it.

took this pick in line at the track last season of my fastback next to a modern ford. 50 years separating the two.... i really like the GT350's.

Agreed the Corvette is a sports car. The mustang a muscle car. I just tell folks not to underestimate the mustang as many are quite fast.

What part of NC are you both in? I just purchased a white ‘17 GS...Picking it up Tuesday, I hope...Waiting for the PPF to be installed.

Need to set up tint appointment too.

I’m in Greensboro...

Raleigh... I was considering a PPF if I had chosen black but for now, I a not sure. I was quoted (Tint World) around $2300 for ceramic coating and PPF (Suntek) for the full hood, bumper, headlights/fog, mirror and rocker panels. I have done the ceramic coating myself on my last 2 cars.

Congrats. Hope you have many happy days with the Vette. Obviously we are a corvette forum but for me it is first and foremost about owning a performance sport car, of which a Corvette is my vice of choice.

BTW, the test drive was fun, but the experience over time really shines--or at least it has for me.

Congratulations to OP.
