Default Applied Blackfire SiO2 today

I washed the car with Dawn today to remove all the old wax and sealants. Then applied 2 coats of the Blackfire SiO2 Sealant. Color looks deep and wet, I like it! Applied by misting each panel, spreading with a MF towel then buffing with a clean MF towel. It was not as easy to wipe off as other sprays I have used, took a considerable amount of elbow grease to remove the film. Thought it was only the 1st coat that was being difficult, but the 2nd coat was the same. Had to step back and look closely at each panel to remove the residual blotching. So not a big deal, just a bit more of a pain than I expected. I know, just do the ceramic! Wanted to try this first, we will see how it lasts.

Suprised it took so much effort to get off. Did you clay it first? Either way, looks great.

No, I did not clay it. Did not have the time to get the buffer out and polish it. It was 109 deg here today, that effort will wait until the fall.

Looks really sharp. Blackfire just came out with a Si02 wheel sealant. I tried it today on wheels like yours and it looks great. Applying it with a finger applicator makes it very easy then buffs to a nice shine.

I just bought some of that as well. I still see having to use wheel cleaner for the inner rim & caliper. My guess is the SiO2 Wheel Sealant will not last long after using wheel cleaner.

A wheel cleaner may definitely strip the sealant off. I use car shampoo and a natural horse hair detailing brush to wash the calipers and a micro fiber wash glove for the wheels. I can reach 100 % of the rear inner wheel and about 80% of the front. I just get the rest the next time. In six months of ownership I have not had to use anything stronger than the car shampoo and it is my daily driver.

Looks sweet. I did not know Dawn would strip the wax and sealants.... learn something new everyday.

Dawn will remove carnauba wax and silicone oils, Dawn will not remove sealants like Zaino, Blackfire and many other , unless they contain silicone oils or wax, most do not
