The Yellow Grand Sport was mine. I traded it in April for the Red Z06. Those are the same exact set of wheels and tires on both cars.
I’m glad you liked them enough to get yourself a set. Your car looks great. 👍

These wheels look great. Now, if someone could answer the question as to if they are stronger than the GS and Z06 wheels...

No... because they're still crappy cast wheels. The issue is the leverage imparted on the inner barrel, not the spokes/design. Plus, it appears most posters are getting reproductions which are probably even worse than OEM, but who knows these days. The OEM ZR1 fronts are 1/2 wider than the GS/Z06 fronts.

I don’t remember details on how the ZR1 rims are made but I believe the GS and Z06 are rotary flow formed or something like that. Which means rotary forged barrel I think. I always thought they were just cast too but somebody quoted Tadge in this forum stating similar to what I paraphrased above. If you wouldn’t value this info with so much as a wooden nickel I would not be offended.

It's still a cast wheel... it's just a fancy way to get the word "forged" into the name to make people think something good. Lots of aftermarket wheels are "rotary forged" as well. Not all are bad though... GM has a bad supplier or the wheel barrel is not designed properly to handle the shock loads transmitted to the wheel by a low profile runflat tire.

Well, gotta say you guys are a "bad influence"!! Lol!!
Pulled the trigger on a set from WCC and they should be here next Tuesday. Good pricing, warranty and customer service.
I don't track the car and have no plans to do so, it's garaged and the local roads around here are not too bad so; why not!?
Will post pics once on the car. Thanks!!

I know, had a lot of compliments on how aggressive it looked with black wheels, lowered all the way on the stock bolts, stage 3 winglets, Z06 taillights and all.
Unfortunately, to me, as soon as it came down from the lift with the black wheels I knew I'd made a boo-boo!!
Nope, no black wheels for me, guess I'm more "old school" than I care to admit ...

Bob,

Purely anecdotal - but talking to one of the GM engineers at Bloomington Gold last week, he said there very few problems with these wheels during ZR1 development and testing. He said he has a set on his C6 Z06 and no issues. So I'm one step closer to getting a set, but still shopping other options. I want to get the Michelin AS3+ on the car by late fall so I have time.

I love those ZR1 wheels too..however, I cannot find them in 19x8.5 and 20x10 sizes for my 2016 Stingray Z51.

Thoughts?
