Default 6/16/19 Corvette Delivery Post,Barn Finds/Throwbacks/C8 Reveal~Mike Furman@Criswell

~I am honored to be invited to the C8 Reveal next month in Southern California. Over the last 42 years selling Corvettes I have had the
privilege to attend many GM/Chevrolet events all over the World. Trust me it never gets old. I had an invite to the C7 reveal and had to pass for family reasons
but it's full steam ahead for the July 18th historic reveal. Much thanks to the powers that be at GM. I had the extreme pleasure of knowing Zora Duntov
thru my time spent working for the Konner Family 1978-1990 and every Summer Zora would spend a great deal of time at the Konner Chevrolet Dealership.
His passion for the Corvette was quite evident and I hung on every word. Corvette having a mid engine was his dream that will be soon realized.
*Below is a note I received from Gary Konner this past week.

-------------------------------------------
~Yesterday at Criswell Chevrolet I ran into great man I had not seen in 13 years...Murph worked for me when I was the GM at Damascus Chevrolet.
Murph fought in many high profile battles during the Korean War and at 87 yrs young is still sharp as a tack!

----------------------

Some deliveries from this past week...

~Joe S. of Woodbury, Connecticut has followed me for years on the various forums... so when it was time to order his Shadow Gray 2019 Z06 he called me and we made a deal over the phone as I gave him a sight unseen trade in value for his 2016 Corvette. Joe drove down approx 325 miles yesterday, we had met at the Carlisle show over the last few years and yesterday we switched Corvettes. Equipment list for his new 2019 Z06: 7spd manual trans, 3LZ pkg, Comp seats, red stitching, and red seat belts, dual roof pkg, 10 spoke blade pearl wheels and much more! In Joe's own words..."It was a pleasure working with you from start to finish and I look forward to saying hello at upcoming events. God bless you and I'll see you around Corvette world!" Joe S.

~Kevin L. of Derwood, MD has been a really good Chevrolet customer of mine for many years and we both root for the Washington Nationals. So Kevin wanted to move up to a Z06 before there are no more!
6 weeks ago he placed a factory order for a 2019 Torch Red Z06 and yesterday was the delivery day. He didn't want it cleaned because its going to get some special treatment to protect the paint.
Equipment list: 7 spd manual transmission, 2LZ pkg, 10 spoke blade pearl wheels, navigation /PDR and much more! This Z06 is stunning in person and I know Kevin will add some great touches to it as he has done so with his last few Corvettes...and trucks!

~Marcus and Tammie H. Of Cookeville, Tennessee touched base/shopped the top few Corvette dealers Nationwide as they were looking for their very first Corvette. We made the deal over the phone within minutes and this week they flew in to Wash, DC ready to drive their new Shadow Gray metallic 2019 Grand Sport 600 miles to their Tennessee home. Equipment list: 7 Spd manual trans, CF badge pkg, 1 LT pkg, and Black wheels. They arrived home safely and were thrilled with their new ride!!

~Paul M. Of Windemere, Florida paid me a visit 8 weeks ago to buy his very first Corvette. We finally decided a factory order would be the right way to go. So we sat down and went line by line and today he took delivery of his special order Torch Red 2019 Corvette Grand Sport Cpe. Loaded with options so check out this equipment list: Transparent roof panel, visible carbon fiber ground effects pkg, CF hood stinger, CF badge pkg, CF instrument panel, Red calipers, Auto transmission, black wheels, GS logo console cover, cf painted mirrors, 2LT Pkg, red seat belts, GS logo pkg, Carbon wheel center caps and much more. I spoke to him the day after his delivery and he loves his new Corvette!!

~Greggrey S. Of Aransas Pass, Texas has been following my Corvette delivery posts on the forums so when it came time to buy his very first new Corvette...he gave me a call. Greggrey had seen a 2019 Elkhart Lake Blue Stingray coupe online in my inventory and we made the deal over the phone in minutes. We fed ex’d him the paperwork so when he came all that had to be done was go over his new Corvette...his 7th Corvette that he's owned but first new one! At 18 he bought a used 1977 Corvette and started his addiction to Corvettes. This week he flew in from Texas and drove home in style.
Equipment list: 1LT pkg, Auto transmission and Performance pkg.

~Some others that left the yard...

Happy Fathers Day to all.

____------------------______

~The other day when I left work I came across a very nice C2 and had to capture the moment.

~The Frank Class Corvette Barn Find and throwback section...please post up your favorite pic(s).

Have a great week!

Great round of pics as always, Mike.

An observation mine in knowing you for several years and buying from you, is that you are blessed with an exceptional memory of people, their names, and cars. Impressive to say the least!

Congrats on the reveal invite Mike! It's well deserved. Very classy of Gary to send the congratulatory message as well.

Happy Father's Day, Mr. Furman!

This one is my favorite today.........classic C2 parked in front of what appears to be a Texaco gas pump. They certainly don't make the C2 anymore and Texaco stations are non-existent (around here) since Shell bought them. (I am old enough to remember "Fire Chief" regular gasoline and "Sky Chief" premium fuel.)

This photo has to get honorable mention this morning. First of all, it is Father's Day and someone gets to enjoy their time with such a cute little kid. Second, because the child will be brought up with a love & appreciation of Corvettes - definitely an advantage when he is older.

It reminds me of my son at that age........but now he is grown, lives on his own and is charting his own course in life. They grow up so quickly!

Happy Father's Day Mike.

You sold some great looking Vettes this week. Congratulations to you and the new owners.

I have recently noticed that a few of the cars you sold had the silver blade wheels. I think those are great looking wheels and have always wondered why more of the Z06s sold did not have the blade wheels.

A photo of Shelby and Duntov? How would you have like to have been a part of that conversation?

Have a great week.

Shelby and Duntov? Wow! Talk about a clash of the Titans (but in a good way). It would be amazing to hear that conversation, huh?

This would be to the automotive world what Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer were to professional golf.

Enjoy Fathers’s Day Mike!
I drove my 19 Grand Sport you sold me down to Florida last week and spending Fathers Day with my dad down here. I think he loves my Corvette even more than I do! I love driving this Corvette so much!
