2019 A8 Grand Sport: Shudder at idle and rough ride
I bought a new 2019 A8 Grand Sport, put 600 miles on it so far. Recently I've noticed the car has a distinct rumble and shudder at idle that I can feel through the car seat.
I also feel the same shuddering even more pronounced when driving even over perfectly smooth roads, it feels like the tires are picking up minute variations in the road. When I drive over the same the same roads in my Audi A5 the ride is silky smooth. The shuddering seems to lessen when the car is on strong acceleration.
I've noticed these symptoms over the past 100 miles although honestly I can't tell if its always been like this since I bought the car and I'm just noticing it now or its a new issue.
This is my first car with a V8 so I know the car won't be perfectly silent at idle and the GS does have a stiff suspension. My question is are these symptoms normal? Or could it be I have a bent rim or the dreaded A8 transmission issue?

Hard to say if what you are experiencing is normal or not. The idle on the Vette is definitely a bit rough and the tires tend ro pick up the variations in the road surfaces. As for the shuddering and the A8 issue you would really have to have the dealer check that out, hopefully what you are experiencing is just the normal Corvette handling/suspension characteristics.

you need the first free oil change (500 miles) Take it to the dealer and report your problem to the tech who is servicing your car. He does hundreds of vettes and is in the best position from a test drive, and a monitor they hook up to the tranny to detect abnormal vibrations, to tell you whether that is a problem with the car. if you've already done the oil change, take it in again now to specifically address your new concern. that's what the warranty is there for.
you may also now have caught the dreaded "chat room crud." This mysterious disease afflicting thousands found viewing of car problem posts lead the reader to believe they had a greater likelihood of being victimized by those car problem risks and that the risks were severe.
The prescription for the A8 virus version of the "chat room crud" is to get a clean bill of health from the tech, then buy a RANGE AFM disabler, insert, and never again be afraid of starting your car in the morning.

As stated the engine will idle rough. Just the nature of the beast. The other problem isn't. May I make a suggestion? If you haven't already check the air pressure in your tires. If they have too much air the car will right like crap, and yes it will feel like it's shuddering as you can feel every little imperfection in the road. When I bought mine (from Mike Furman) I was going to ask him to check the pressure in the tires, but he beat me to it. Ex. My wife ordered an '18 Mustang GT. When I checked the pressure all of the tires were over 40 psi. It road rode terrible. Good luck, I hope it's nothing serious.

I assume you have tried the different ride modes - Touring, Sport and Track. Touring should be decent if the tire pressures are set at 30psi cold. Yes the idle is a bit rough as others have said. I can't speak to the shuttering since I have an M7 transmission and the transition from 8 to 4 cylinders is normal. However from what I read many owners have had issues with the A8 transmission. I'm sure your dealer will help you resolve the issue.
