What did YOU get for Fathers Day?

That's a great wife for sure. I always dreamed about a Corvette and while my wife didn't surprise me like this she did buy me my Corvette as a retirement present.
When the warranty ran out on her Cadillac SRX she said it was time to trade it in on something new. She told me since I was now retired and I no longer needed a work vehicle why don't we trade it in on the Corvette I always wanted. I said it wasn't a practical vehicle and she said I spent my whole life being practical and now is the time to enjoy all the things we just dreamed of. Who was I to argue with her? When I said I would look for a good deal on a used one she told me she wanted me to order a new one and she would pay for it.
Yep there are some really great wives out there and it looks like I'm not the only lucky husband to have one.

yeah. but what is life if you can't enjoy yourself before you're too old, sick or worse... like the old saying goes, nobody has ever said on their death bed i wish i did less things on my bucket list lol.
i was going to wait until i retired to buy new and then 3 people close to us developed pancreatic cancer, brain cancer, and lung cancer that spread to their whole bodies and all died within months of diagnosis from otherwise being healthy.. age range 35-44... to hell with waiting.. tomorrow is not guaranteed. My father is 75yo, suffered a hemorrhagic stroke a few years ago.. made a full recovery which was a miracle in itself.. always wanted to won a corvette. has two houses and two new cars all paid off. 2 pensions and tons of cash saved.. for what? for us? we are all doing fantastic and so are our kids.. i vowed to not be like them.. raise your kids right and teach them if they want something work for it..
When you leave cash behind it ruins relationships within families.. told them they day they go i hope they spent their last $.05...
That's a great story OP. and for Father's Day i got the go ahead to order one of the last FE Corvettes refined to be the best of their generations made while they sort out the ME car for then ext several years on the guinea pigs....i mean customers who are first in line.. i have 35 minutes left to make any changes to my order.. killing me

Ha ha. That’s another great wife story.
The day I ordered my Corvette we were then heading to our daughters house in Virginia. We were talking about how I ordered my car. I said I almost ordered the performance exhaust but decided not to because it cost an extra 1200 bucks and only added 5 hp. She said there has to be more to it than that. I then told her you can adjust the sound and the tips out back were nicer.
That’s when she looked up Chevy dealers on the way to Virginia. She then tells me that there is a dealership with over 200 Corvettes in stock on the way. The name of the dealership was Chriswell. We stopped in and to my surprise they were unloading brand new Corvettes. She talked to one of the young guys there who were uncovering the cars and then a salesman showed up. She wanted to see the difference between the stock exhaust and the performance. The salesman said they order all their Corvettes with the performance exhaust because nobody wants the std exhaust and for 1200 bucks the performance exhaust is a bargain. Just then one of the guys fired up a Corvette and when she heard it her face lit up. She tells me that it sounds awesome and I need to call my dealer and order it first thing in the morning.
Well I don’t like to argue with my wife so that’s what I did and now we have a performance exhaust.

My wife didn't buy me one, but she found our first one, a used C5 vert, and prompted me to buy it. Then when we saw the C7 she said, "We have to have one!" and we ordered the 2016 Stingray. Then when we heard that the C8 would be automatic transmission only (at least at first) she agreed to let me order our 2019 Stingray plus a bunch of aftermarket mods and a Quick Jack.

Nothing for the car, but did get some outdoor lighting for our deck.
