'19 GS 2000 mile review PowerStop and more!!!
Ok, as the title says my 2019 Grand Sport hit 2000 miles. I'm coming from a 2016 base A8 Stingray.
First up, I love the car and the wide body has really grown on me. I'll hit on several topis quickly for a easy read.
Traction...The weak point of my 2016 Stingray was straight line traction. The car overpowered the tires way to easy. The Grand Sport pretty much cures that with "no drama" hole shots because of the massive rear tires.
Fuel Mileage... (yeah I could care less) The GS seems to get on average 3 MPG less then the Stingray.
PowerStop brake pads.......No brainer as for the first month I cleaned my F'ing wheels every day with the stock pads. Switched over to PowerStops front and rear and it stops just fine and no browning of rotors. Brake dust reduced at least 75%+
Magnetic ride....... Meh...if I could have bought my GS without Mag Ride I would. The car will never be tracked and Sport and Track are useless as it is still too stiff even with the 2019 updated software. I am forced to drive in Touring and miss out on the quicker up shifts and more aggressive tip in throttle response I enjoyed with my base non mag Stingray.
Rear end gearing........Big time difference over my base Stingray. Not a bad difference at all but much lower gear ratio (higher numerical). The revs come faster.
Tire noise.....louder then the Stingray because of fatter tires but that's ok.
Brakes.....Much better then the Stingray.
Ceramic Coating.....I used CarPro Cquartz UK 3.0_30ml Kit w/Reload and it came out fantastic. I only wash the car now with a water hose and towel dry. Bugs come right off with the hose. I never did any paint correction as the cars paint is very good from the factory and I did it 1 week after having car delivered.
I think that's all for now.

I now have 17 GS coming from a base 16 stingray. I agree with everything you noted. I have got to do the brake pad swap, dust seems to be getting worse, now have just over 7K. Thinking about doing the MRC upgrade as well. Cheers

Like you Mobil I went from a base '16 A8 Roadster to a '19 GS A8 Roadster. With the exception of the straight line take off (haven't had the opportunity yet), I couldn't have said it any better.

FWIW, just returned from a 2,000 mile round trip in my '19 GS. 17 hours non-stop each way and the car was absolutely comfy and trouble free for the trip
