Default My baby's all cleaned up. She sure cleans up nice!

I've had my car for just over two years and despite two bucket washes, good products, great towels, and blowing her dry it had the usual assortment of light scratches. I picked up a Rupes LHR 15 Mark II some time ago and also decided on buying a 3" Griots Garage buffer. Good thing, because this car is all angles. I could only really use the Rupes on the roof, hood, and half the door. The 3" buffer did the bulk of the work. Took two days to wash, clay bar, and two pass polish with Sonax Cut Max and Perfect Finish but damn she's looking good. That Perfect Finish is good stuff. Stays wet for a long time so you can work with it, and wipes off easily. Pics won't do her justice but here they are...

Normally, the sun in the last pic would be surrounded by a halo of fine scratches. Not today! Now that I'm finished, I'm thinking she looks better then the day I got here. Couldn't be happier with the results.

Mike

I dont envy you, you have a black car. I would have ceramic coated the car since you did the paint correction. It will last much longer and make cleaning way easier.

you did an awesome job buddy, as a post owner of black cars i know how difficult they are to work on. but when you are done nothing can beat a shiny clean beautiful black car ( especially a corvette) Congrats!

that picture of your hood is wonderful - that is why black is outstanding when cleaned and polished.

I had two black Mustang GT coupes (several years ago) and they looked TOTALLY HOT when clean - but they also show every speck of dirt & imperfection.

You did a great job with your black Corvette. It looks great! (I am still partial to Torch Red on a Corvette, but have to give you kudos anyway.)

Black is a true love hate relationship. It is a sickness for sure.
