I have the folding mirrors on my Volvo XC90, and I like them a lot. I do seem to recall that the "leaked" C8 options list had them listed. Hope so.

That's at the top of your sports car "want list?" Maybe a Miata would have fit better?

I use the old retracting 'ball on the string' to line my GS up in the garage. Kind of primitive by today's high-tech standards but works great and don't have to depend on electricity.

My garage... I have 94 1/2" clearance to the hard stuff and 91" to the vinyl strips. And garage is not symmetrical with the opening. I have no problem parking it but folding mirrors would make it easier... and much easier to get the car centered when I want to put it up on the QuickJack.

In my stall with the lift, I have a mirror mounted on the front wall and also a taped line on the floor where the left tires should be. The purpose is to assist with centering the car on the lift, but it is also a perfect reference for just parking the car there. You can see in the mirror exactly where your tires are with respect to the taped line.

I only have a few inches extra room on each side of my C7 with the mirrors out when I pull in and out of my garage. As a result when I pull into the garage I gotta get out of my car, which is no easy task, and push in the passenger side mirror and then get back into my car using the sit down and move the legs method. When I pull out of the garage, I gotta do the same thing. I hope that the C8 has power folding mirrors as that would really be a useful piece of equipment.

Funny how people want every gadget known to man on these cars, and then complain about the high price, and also about over-complexity when the hundreds of installed gadgets don't work 100% for 100,000 miles.

Would be great if the folding mirrors and safety features (especially blind spot monitoring) show up on the C8.

I also have about 2" of clearance between the mirrors & garage on each side. I placed strips of blue painters tape inside the garage (epoxy floor), and painted a short blue line 4' outside. I use the front dual cameras as my guide to line up correctly...and it also allows me to precisely stop at the exact spot (critical in my garage with the other cars).

Never had any issues with mine anyplace. Better to have the mirrors out and hit them than to fold them in and end up hiting the rear fenders bc they are now the widest part of the car.

I really wish My C7 had power folding mirrors. I know the Corvette Team tried to keep weight to a minimum for track/performance purposes, but I would suggest making it an option or part to the 3LT package for those that want it. Just like the rear hatch (mine is manual, but a close friend who bought a 2017 C7 has a power rear hatch.

I wish the C7 had auto folding mirrors, too. I use this as my solution for the passenger mirror. I use the padded handle to wrap around the mirror, and pull it closed before entering the garage. After exiting, I grip the handle and push the mirror back into its standard position with the rubber end of the cane. I never have to leave the driver’s seat.

I have a similar small area to work with, so I tried to make it simple. I use my HUD and line the 1 (gear displayed in the HUD) with a mark I put on a cabinet on the far wall of my garage. Now, when pulling in, I simply line it up and drive straight until my front camera shows I'm where I want my splitter to be (i.e. not hitting the cement step up where the cabinets reside).
Easy Peasy...
Note: My car fits with the mirrors fine, snug, but fine.

Or you could learn to drive better! Like many with a 1960's era houses and single garage doors that are 93" of clear space from side to side, careful driving has gotten me in an out or my garage with cars as wide as the C7 (C6 & C5). 2" of clearance with the mirrors out is plenty if you are lined up correctly. My Jeep GC which is 92" mirror to mirror, which is a little more work without folding the mirrors in.

Thanks, it's a lot of fun. Those old 283's are almost bulletproof. It's not the original engine as the car was built in October of '59 but the engine was built in April of '60. So it's "correct" but not original.
