Did you get THE LETTER?

C-7 RECALL: GM SENDS LETTERS TO SELECTED CORVETTE OWNERS OF POTENTIAL C7 CORVETTE FUEL TANK LEAK
GM sends letter

if not set up a my chevrolet webpage with your vin number and if the fuel tank leak warranty 17469 extends to your car, it will be listed.

Sorry for your loss, but grateful you are alive.

When i got the letter, read completely the planned GM inaction (wait and see) until it's too late; i sold the car and bought a newer one not affected. GM is playing with fire not doing a full recall of all affected units to fix; instead just wait and sniff, then fix. But then again, exhibit a, the lethal GM ignition switch.

you are not alone:

C7 burnt up in Philadelphia mall

By the way, getting way off the road and to the side of the burning car was an excellent choice for safety's sake.

Best wishes to OP, and as he says, it can be replaced--but this can't be a fun experience.

Clicks need to increase on you tube.

There was not 1 reason in hell not to disclose the cause of the fire in the initial post.

So, a second YT video will be shot explaining the cause of the fire.

A third YT video will be shot explaining the insurance claim and the saga.

A fourth will show the ordering process for the replacement car.

A fifth....

I agree. All this fake drama... I will withhold my sympathy. It would have taken nothing for him to give fellow owners a quick heads up if there is a potential issue for us to check.

Gotta get those views. Ah well, terrible shame about the car. I'll check back on this thread, I'm not watching the video.

This did not happen recently. I am a photo interpreter by trade so I cant help but to analyze photos/videos. Look at the trees, there are no leaves on the trees. This happened sometime between late November and Mid April.

Glad you are ok.

see if you can get your insurance company to include a portion for diminished value in your claim.
