Clunk sound when tapping gas in high gear (M7)??
Hi all, i have a brand new '19 M7 i purchased less than two months ago, I noticed when i am driving around 45mph in 5th gear and i tap the gas real quick i sometimes here a "clunk" sound coming from under the car toward the rear, not sure if this is normal driveline clunk/play or not. If i am going faster or in any other lower gear i dont hear it. And obviously at 45mph in 5th the vehicle does not "buck" much at all when i hit the gas. Also new to manual so not sure if this normal? Thanks!

5th gear is fine for 45. Even the Stingray has plenty of torque at that speed/gearing. Long as RPM is above 1000 the engine isn’t “lugging “. As for the “clunk” noise I suspect it’s simply a result of “tapping fast “ the gas & causing the tranny to “jerk “. Not technical I know ☹️ I’ve had a ‘14 Z51,‘16 Z & now ‘19 Z all with M7 so have a bit of experience.
