2 flats in 6 months
Is it normal for these Corvette tires to be more susceptible to flats? 2 flats in 6 months. Knock on wood, however I haven't had a flat in years on my truck.
Thanks,
Thanks,

2+ years of daily driving & trips in a C5 and C7 with no flats (yet).

You never know about these things. I hadn't had one in years, but shortly after taking delivery of my 18, I had 2 in 3 months. This coincided with a milling/repaving project on the state highway I must travel to get to my home. I had purchased tire/wheel protection, which paid for itself immediately.

Normal vehicle tires roll over the "problem" & go on unless it gets stuck in the tread channel. These tires at low speed will pick up "problems" & not throw them off, like when driving thru parking lot, driveways, slow residential streets, etc. The item sometimes rolls over, it sticks to tire till it pokes thru the tire-OH CRAP! I can spot stuff in the road even driving at hwy. speeds & zig to avoid when possible. Just a CON of having these awesome "grab the crap out of the road- G pulling fun"!

Got this at 225 miles on the car a couple weeks ago, have a great tire guy and he plugged it and put a patch over that from inside the tire. Screw was in center of tread luckily and not near sidewall.

As Foosh mentions, some conditions may make punctures more likely, but it's still a matter of luck.

Is it normal to have flats??
Yep!
And if you get a nail etc, within 1 inch from the sidewall (more for some shops) you’ll need a new tire
Michelin allows one repair. When I got my Grand Sppoort drove it over to Discount Tire and paid $250 for a lifetime free repair and replacement.
Did the same for the wife’s new BMW 5X SUV about 1 1/2 years ago. it has the sport suspension option that has 315 section width rear tires. The wider the tire the more chance they will find a nail! Because the Continental performance tires were cheaper than the Grand Sport tires it only cost $180. She has two flats repaired and one new tire since the screw was 3/4 inch from the sidewall. That Saved $399.
So far. No flats on the GS but had several on my 2014 Z51 and a number in the 6 years I had my C6. Worth the insurance IMO.

wide and sticky.....
….kinda like me....my (anecdotal, grain of salt) is YES......I've had more flats on one Vette (three) than three Prius (one)...might have to do with where you drive (urban, construction, etc.)

Got one after 2000 miles. Seems like it's easier with wider and stickier tires.

My Stingray has had three flats in the last year. None repairable, good thing I have a tire and wheel warranty for the first time ever. We have a lot of tear down and rebuilt houses in our neighborhood. My wife's Mercedes zero over the same time period.

Simply luck-of-the-draw. The "next one" may never have at all.
