C7 on a baddie list at Costco
Renewed my Costco membership today with the intention of getting a new set of tires, but the tech said that they don't do any work on corvettes 2014 or newer. I dug for more info and another guy came out and said Costco corporate has a list of cars they don't work on and the 14 and newer vettes are on the list.
Scratched wheels perhaps? Or maybe the jacking pucks situation. In any case I can still order the tires and get them mounted elsewhere. Discount tire, probably

In before the "I could never shop there" response.

I went there for tires once for my Tacoma and those clowns scratched the wheels. 17 inchers with tires that have substantial sidewalls, should have been a piece of cake. I would never, ever take my Vette there. The place is such a zoo and they have to just crank the cars through they don't have time to care. I will never ever take my Tacoma there again, either.

Costco replaced the tires on my C6 a few years ago . No wheel damage. They were very careful and gave the car special attention. However, they installed new TPMS sensors (dead batteries) with ones that wouldn't register. So they ended up having to break the tire beads a second time - still no damage. The store manager gave me a $50 gift card for my added trouble.

Not surprising. Costco Corp probably just ran the numbers and determined that selling/installing C7 tires was negatively impacting profits as a result how many wheels they damaged and had to replace for free.
Obviously C7 GS and Z06 have wheel design issues resulting in bent/cracked wheels, however I can't help but wonder how many of the reported bent/cracked C7 wheels are actually caused by poorly train and/or inexperienced tire techs.

I'm sorry to hear that. I am glad I got my Michelins on before the list was updated.
The local Costco did a great job on mine, even humoring me with a demo of the lift adjustment to fit the car. No scratches, no mess, no problems, and they gave me a retroactive rebate on the installation cost a few days later.
But, I guess they have to do what the corporate bosses tell them to do.

I recently changed to AS3+ run flats. Shopped on line and local tire shops. Then I got a quote from one of the local Chevy dealers and their price was very competitive. In addition they honored the 10% discount they give to members of the Corvette club I belong to. That saved me over $100 for the tires and installation. No damage, no problems and I love the tires. I now use that Chevy dealer for all my service work.

Well, this is news. I have posted previously that I checked twice with them in the last year to fit AS3+ ZP's on my 2016 Z06. They did not have those sizes in their system, and would not order them from Michelin. Sounds like I won't have to bother with them any more for the Vette. They did a fine job with my previous C5 in 2017, but those tires must be a walk in the park compared to the newer cars.

Not a worry for me as there is not a Costco store near me. If they are damaging wheels, then it is a good decision not to work on the C7s.

I've said that for a long time, but something has happened at my local DT. I went to by a new spare for my little heavy hauler 195/75R14. The tires price was 54 bucks. When the joker got thru poking on his computer he said that would be $84.75. I thought dayum....and looked at his computer. He knucklehead had thrown on a $20 lifetime maintenance plan in on the price, I told him I don't need that on the tire, and he looked at me like I had worms crawling out of my eyes. He didn't even make a move to remove the plan. I just told him to keep the tire, I would go somewhere else. They probably changed managers, and this was his welcome to their past customers. To top it all off I couldn't even leave a review on the stores website. Screw 'em., I'll find another tire store.

The nearest Discount Tire is 90 miles from me and the nearby Costco has excellent service and prices, so it was an easy choice for me.
Just speculating here, but it is possible with the recent rash of bent/cracked rims that some have been blamed on a tire installer who discovers them. Costco is a no-questions-asked customer service store so maybe they had to stop the C7 tire mounting out of necessity. Or not...either way, it is sad to see this resource gone.

Costco has had some really strange rules regarding mounting tires for years. I ordered a set of Michelins for my GMC dually one size larger than stock, they had already dismounted my old tires when I was told they could not mount the new tires due to a difference in size from stock. I was also told I could take my truck home, bring the wheels back, and then they would mount them. I told the service manager this whole issue could have been avoided, had they checked the intended vehicle when the order was placed.
