Default Parking lot mishap - Good outcome with pics

Greetings,

I was shocked to see this laying on my car. The guy next to me said a gust of wind just brought it down. This may have been an act of God or a landscaper/gardener who needs to pay closer attention to the palm trees surrounding the parking lot. Believe it or not, there was only a small scuff mark. A little Griot's Garage Perfecting Cream and orbital polisher and good as new. Bravo Chevy for developing a durable clear coat.

Semper Fi

PS - Yes, I too desire the new C8 - what a car.

I see lot of these here in S Florida, nothing unusual here with all our palm trees.

Glad you had no damage!

Sharping looking Corvette!

I see what you did there Ken.

I'm sure that gave you a sick feeling in your stomach when you saw that. Glad there was no lasting damage.

Glad there was no real damage to the car. I know I would have been at first noticing something like that on my car.

Well your parking lot adventure worked out better than mine. My 16 Z-51 is in the body shop for the third time in 2 1/2 years as I type. All three have been a result of being hit while parked, last time by a F ing illegal who didn't habla and no drivers license. The old lady before him told me it was my fault cause my car was too low and she couldn't see it. Parking lots are more dangerous than the highways.

I've trimmed many of those. Larger palm fronds like that one aren't light and will put a hole in the ground depending on how they fall. OP was lucky it didn't do any damage. Parking lots are absolutely the worst places to park your car. Had a lady sideswipe one of my muscle cars, which was parked in a space inside the lines. She said it was my fault because one side of the car (that she hit) was closer to the lines than the other side. You can't fix stupid. She would have a helluva time here in Florida where it seems very few people know how to park between the lines.

Just goes to show you parked all the way over in an end spot to avoid incident and something falls from the sky. At least there wasn't damage.

So if he had parked under a plant that dropped a squash on his car, would that be an Act of Gourd?

Most accidents happen in parking lots or while reverse
