That is hard to believe maybe your tire gauge was faulty

I'm leaning toward this reply for tire pressure. If you have air, heat the air, the air will try to expand, some of that physics stuff. Since the tires are being flexed with the friction, that'll get hot or hotter. Pressure has to go up in the tires.

Has anyone had any pot hole issues with these tires?
i have a 2017 z51 and love the as3+ that I’ve had for 26000 miles. However I’ve had to replace 3 front tires due to pot hole damage over the past three years.

2019 GS I got 19k out of the stock tires ...wen to A/S 3 ‘s ...no traction issues yet ...and I am a spirited driver. These are quieter to me and much more confident in the rain and summers are rain here in Fla.....no regrets here thus far

We have them on a Z51 and C7 Grand Sport with no issues at all. Ran 2 sessions with them at Road Atlanta I Feb. I thought they did surprisingly well on the track. Best of luck. Bill

You're lucky you didn't bend or break the rim. Nasty hit on those thin sidewalls.

I just had to replace one on the front at 17000 miles and just 3 days after 2 yr road hazard expired.
Replacement was $257 at tirerack listed as "closeout"

Seems they came out with a replacement.

https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...t+All+Season+4

Michelin announced their latest ultra-high-performance all-season tire — the Pilot Sport All-Season 4. The new tire was made to provide performance in all conditions and Chevrolet even made them the first all-season original equipment tire on the new Corvette C8.

yea, saw that. I just wonder how long before they are available. As it was the same thing with the C6 grand sport tires when it came out. They were lagging behind on availability.

For what it's worth, I just ordered a set (AS3+) not less than a few weeks ago. The fronts were in stock and the rears came less a few days later. Maybe I got the last of them? Either way, they didn't act like they were running short on them.

Blueray16. Was your road hazard due to a pot hole?

We've ruined two of the AS3+ on our 2017 Z51, with the Mag Ride in Tour (and we have the softer updated version).
One rear in 2018 and one front in 2019. Both from Illinois potholes. Both times we had the Discount Tires Road Hazard insurance, about $50 each time for a replacement mounted & balanced.
Fifteen years of driving Z51 Corvettes and never damaged a tire or wheel until the C7. Have also bent & straightened 5 of our 8 wheels.

I appreciate the OP starting this. Its diversity of thought opinion and experiences that gave us this wonderful country and Corvettes :-). I learned a lot right here.

Default Fix for this situation?

I have also done some research, after ruining a third tire due to pot holes.
It appears the AS3+ZP will shortly be no longer available. The new tire is Pilot Sport All Season 4, the same tire coming on the C8 Stingray Non-Z51. It appears the tire is 3 pounds heavier than the AS3+ ZP. Perhaps with more "armor"?
The are being installed Friday. We will see.
The Treadwear, Traction, and Temperature ratings are the same as the AS3+ZP.

Rigelkentaurus, sorry that you are unhappy.
I have a 2017 with the A/S-3plus tire. Love them. Slightly better ride, quieter, and the tires don't track road imperfections and pull on the steering wheel.
I hated the Pilot Sport's. You are a hard driver and are really enjoying the C7 performance. Good for you!

Hi Ron
I do enjoy the as3+ tire. Far better than the Pilot Sports. My car was a museum delivery and the first thing I did when I got home was put the As3+ZPs on. Loved them from the start.
My 3 episodes were rather mundane. The first was a pot hole in the rain at 35 mph. The last two were pot holes at 70-75 mph on interstates. One was a spring pot hole on route 44 in Carver MA and the last was on the way to Carlisle PA on Interstate 84 in NY on a bridge expansion joint. None were as a result of aggressive driving.

I am hoping the new PILOT SPORT ALL SEASON 4 will hold up on “normal” road hazards we see every day.

One more comment:
I have over 25000 miles on these tires and they have 7-8/32 of tread left. Bang on alignment done at Key Chevrolet with Paul Koerner The Corvette Mechanic. But that’s another great story. The tires wear much better that Pilot Super Sports.
