Help melted clock spring
Good news is I got my steering wheel off. The bad news; I had to heat my steering wheel bolt because of all the thread lock from the factory and melted my clock spring port for the steering wheel controls and I can't find any instructions on removing it. I am assuming some of the dash has to come off and the steering wheel covers.
Detailed instructions would be awesome.

If you haven't done so yet, there are many stickies in the c7 tech section. Maybe some help there.

The only thing you need to get the steering wheel bolt off is a breaker bar. Turn the steering wheel all the way to the left, put a breaker bar onto the socket and SLOWLY turn. I've done multiple steering wheels. I know this doesn't help you now, but maybe it will help those that read and need to do this in the future.

The heat of the airbag going off will melt the connectors to the air bag. I can imagine what heating. When you replace the clock spring the steering wheel position sensor may have to be reset with a programmer that most well equipped mechanics have.the ability to do it. Youtube has a lot of video's on it.
