Question on engine plenum dress-up
Those of you with engine dress up kits...regarding the plenum, what are the pros/cons on just doing a cover w/ 3M tape vs a whole new plenum.
I'm willing to swap mine out...but, if you guys like the covers too then that would save me some extra labor time.
Obviously a new plenum will be solid no matter what. I worry about the tape for the cover...and, getting the thing aligned correctly.

What kind of a look are you going for? Do you have a picture you can post that can help point us in the direction you are trying to go?
I had mine painted and airbrushed - its expensive but it makes my engine pop.

I painted my own plenum and FRCs
The plenum is done in Carbon Flash Metallic and then clear coated.

Ken..that hood liner is amazing. Awesome.
Mayor...I like that flag work on your plenum. 3D like.
I have an order with a vendor on here already. I didn't know until today that I could order a cover or the plenum itself. I'd personally be okay with paying the few extra bucks to get the full part rather than me tryin to align a painted cover that's held in place with tape. I'm certain there are MANY solid quality covers out there, I was just concerned about me misaligning it my 1/10th of a degree......cause I'll see that error from a timezone away. LOL.

If you plan to install vinyl tape over the stock plenum, you probably would be better off sanding the plenum smooth so the vinyl has a smooth surface to adhere to.
Here is my engine bay - I bought the plenum cover painted torch red from RPI Designs and then had a local sign shop make me the black highlights from 3M Carbon Flash Vinyl tape. I think it came out great and I did not have to pay a fortune to have the highlights put on the plenum cover. Just an idea. No problems with the tape sticking to the cover either.

Burning Brakes
I bought a used set of covers (fuel rail and plenum) on here and painted them myself using rattle cans. I also did the fuse box cover and plan on doing the top of brake reservoir to match. They are not SHOWSTOPPERS grade but other than a few hours work and maybe $20 I can live with them.

I have a question - isn't the C6 Grand Sport logo with the stripes going down at an angle and the C7 Grand Sport logo have the stripes going horizontal? Im asking because I see some guys here with painted C7 fuel rails but the stripes going down at an angle like the C6 Grand Sport Logo... Was there a different C7 Grand Sport logo Im not aware of?
C6 Grand Sport Steering Wheel (notice the stripes at an angle)
C7 Grand Sport Logo (horizontal stripes)
