I have a stock C7 LT3 with about 15500 miles. On the first startup of the day, there is a loud backfire. The car runs fine and this never happens again until the car has sat overnight and gets started the next day. Any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks,
Evan
The initial cold start is louder than subsequent warm starts. This is completely normal. Many enjoy this sound.
(A backfire is when flame/air comes out of the air intake, backward to normal airflow in the engine. If this is happening you have a major issue to address.)

Is the car new to you? If not does this represent a change in its performance at startup? Yes! Which end of the car seems to generate the noise, please? Where are you hearing it from? BIG difference in what's happening.

Mine did it once like it had some residual gas fumes in the exhaust from last time running. Hasn't done it since.
