Exhaust question
Did any C7s come from factory with only 2 exhaust pipes? I’m looking at a C7 at a dealership and it has just 2 pipes out the back. I contacted the dealership and they say is 100% stock.

Aftermarket, I agree. Have the dealer "document" their BS. How, from where do they "know."
(btw, if they put it on a lift there may well be a manufacturer's name or similar stamped on it somewhere)

ALL C7s came from factory with four pipes out the back, two functional, two non functional.

^^^ Huh? Exhaust flows out of all 4. The two on the end have a direct pathway w/the most volume, but exhaust still flows through the inner two...

Instead of saying two functional, two non functional, I probably should have said two primary and two secondary, however as I said the inner are more bypass valves/outlets than exhaust pipes.

That dealer is less than honest. All factory C7 muffler options have 4 center-exit outlets. I think it’s Borla that offers two sort-of rectangular outlets. I’m sure there are round options also, but definitely not stock. All that being said, you might be getting a nice upgrade. ;-)

With NPP valves open most of the exhaust takes the path of least resistance - straight pipe. With the NPP valves closed at low rpm or steath mode, all exhaust takes the longer, quieter path through the muffler. For those without NPP all exhaust goes through the muffler, exits as a single pipe, then splits into 2 tips for each muffler. The pictures above are NPP exhausts.

OP, In this instance I would absolutely have the car inspected 100% by a good Chevy dealer who sells a fair amount of Corvettes. They charge for this service, usually around $200 to $300, but well worth it. The dealer selling the car either doesn't know what's happened to the car or they're lying. Either way, it's 'buyer beware'. I'm not saying don't buy the car, just don't trust the dealer.

All C7s had four exhaust tips from the factory. If the one you are looking at only has two, it either has an aftermarket system on it or the stock one has been modified.
