I have a 2017 Z51 convertible 7m, mag ride 3LT. It is Longbeach Red, with the spice red package. 10,500 miles. I bought it new in July 2016 with a sticker of $81,000. A specialty car agency offered me $50,000 for it yesterday. Is that a fair price or would I be better offering in the for sale section in the forum. Only about 45 were made with this configuration.
your thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks

Bird in hand John. If you're looking to move it, granted it's a desirable combo, you'd be hard pressed to get much over 50k, unless you find the buyer who absolutely must have that car. Keep in mind, for half the country, storage season is fast approaching. Tell the agency you'll do the deal at 52.5, see what they say. It's worth a try
Selling it to a dealer for re-sale; $50k sounds about right, but It's all about condition-condition-condition. General overall condition can swing value 10%>15% or more in either direction.
Mileage is no real indicator of condition. I've seen 10,000 mile C7s that were immaculate and others that looked a pack of wolves had run through them.
Just curious, with a MSRP of $81,000, what did you pay if you don't mind my asking. Would be interesting to compare that to the $50k offer you have.

Seems like a low ball offer to me based on the mileage. If you need to move the car in a hurry then you absorb the loss. if it were me and in no hurry. I would attempt to sell outright. Have you looked up the value on KBB?

With a rebound in C7 prices lately, $50K may be a bit low for your car. If you have the time, try selling it yourself. Check with some of the companies that offer to buy vehicles, such as Vroom, Carvana, CarMax, etc See what they offer and go from there on what you might be able to ask for your car if you sell it privately.
2017 with 10,500 miles for $45,000 lol - ummm ok - Where are they at? Do yourself a favor and just sell outright again unless you need to move in a hurry. But $45,000 - WOW
If you have a little time and don't mind putting out the effort and in immaculate condition with that color combo and features you can get $57k>$59k in today's market.

What was the scenario of this offer? Was it a letter you received in the mail, or were you at this agency and they made you an offer?
I get letters in the mail all the time for the several vehicles we own. It's just a marketing thing the dealers do to get you to come in to buy a new vehicle after they get you to come in to talk about buying your vehicle. I just toss them in the trash.
It was in person. I have done business with them on several occasions. They always offer more than anyone in town. Couldn’t get them any higher. Could possibly pry another $1k, maybe. don’t need to sell it, but I don’t believe there will be a better time to sell. Is a forum sale of $55-57k possible?

Possible, but I doubt it.
Like I said in my previous post, you are going to need to invest some time and effort to get top dollar, including reaching out to a larger pool of potential buyers than just this forum.
The dealer who offered you $50k is probably going to list it just under sixty, and good chance will get $55K>$59K. It's crucial to have VERY GOOD photos to entice those who are more concerned with obtaining a fine auto than price.
If you are willing to spend the time & effort to sell the car yourself, you probably could get more than 50k, but get ready for the tire kickers/low ballers/joy riders that you may encounter

To avoid the jackasses I don't advertise local. If someone is going to drive distances or fly in to inspect a car chances are they're serious. My experience is more selling classic corvettes than C7s, but I've have success getting top dollar selling overseas. I wouldn't typically recommend this approach for a C7 however this particular car may attract some attention from far away.
OP, good luck.

Thanks. I don’t mind selling it myself. I have Sold 15 or 20 vehicles on the internet over the years. I just don’t want to take the time to do it if it is only going to net me a couple of grand extra.
