Default dry sump oil

What do most of you guys run for oil, 0-40 or 5-30 for non track use. I use my car as a daily driver, 60 miles total a day.

I daily mine too. Factory spec 5w-30 Mobil 1.
AC delco filter. Changed when the car tells me to. Live life.

Lots of threads on here about oil. I think people over think this a lot.

For a street car, buy whatever oil meets the Dexos 2 spec. I just had the dealer put in the Mobil 1. I just sold my 2016 Z51, in 5 years, it got 6 oil changes, including the first at 500 miles... It never used ANY oil.. I was nuts about checking the oil, and it never used any. But it's oil. If it meets the spec, it really won't make any difference other than it will make you feel better...

If you have a 2019 you should probably use the 0w-40 Dexos2 since that's what your C7 comes filled with and GM recommends. If you own a 2014>2018 then either will keep you in good grace with your warranty for street use. Personally I prefer the Mobil1 0w-40 for my '17 GS because of it's cold start protection properties since I may go weeks in the winter between starting. My engine may benefit long term as a result, perhaps not, but worth the little extra cost to me.

I'm running 0W-40 now. My dealership switched over the the new Dexos 2 oil for all C7 oil fills. I see no downside other than the slightly increased cost. Should help out with cold starts and perhaps catalyst life.
