I have never used it. I think it is hard on the vehicle, certainly doesn’t help it. Another thing; there are no new replacement Corvettes being manufactured. The C8, not my style.

Yep

It's in your owner's manual pg 207. It works differently for M7 and A8 transmissions.

Lots of good info up in the C7 General Sticky Threads.

Be safe and have fun!

On a A8 it's not hard on the car at all ....I use it all the time at the track for consistency when bracket racing as there is little chance that you will blow the tires off of it at launch but u will loose a few tenths over learning how to launch with out LC as it does pull power in an effort to keep the tires from spinning

On a well prepped track it's like getting shot out of a cannon, on a no prep it will pull power but only the most experienced drivers will launch better in street tires , I can pull a 1.7 1.8 60 ft with my lightly modified LT 1 on factory heavy run craps

I love my Launch control

To engage , put car in Race Mode , tap mode button twice to go in competition mode, stand on the brake pedal like u are doing an emergency stop , press gas to floor fast , tach will shoot up and settle at 1,800 , release pedal and hold on lol lol 😆

If brakes don't hold. You did not set LC correctly

Since PTM has several sub-modes (wet, dry, etc), does selecting different sub-modes have any effect on how much power/wheelspin you get initially in the first few feet, or is the computer quick enough to get it correct immediately regardless of sub-mode?

Also, would it work with the A8 if you start in 2nd instead of 1st?
Some autocross courses have a sharp turn very shortly after leaving the start, and I sometimes use 2nd for the start to help modulate the excess power available when cornering immediately.

Yes to your first question but you have to be in track mode and in competition mode , I don't have mag ride so I don't have sub modes and no to the second , you can not engage it in 2nd gear and also not sure if you would want to use it in an autocross start as a 1.7 60 ft time is pretty fast and in competition mode all the nannies are off

I only have two videos racing my C7 because using the PDR while in the staging lanes is a pain , one where I used my PDR and one where I used my go Pro, on the race where I used the PDR , the car in front of me dropped water on the track , u can see the track guy make an attempt to clean it but I could still see it was wet , I did not want to go
But I had no choice , as soon as I launched you can see the RPM's drop as the tires hit the water and the ECM pulled power .. miserable 60 ft time and the car only popped a 12.6 quarter mile time ... Hopefully I will get a chance to go to the track this year and use the PDR but now we are dealing with this gas shortage in the south. I actually had to put some regular gas in the tank and my tune does not like it one bit ...
