After filing my 2019 GS, I removed the pump and these two pieces popped out. It appears the gasket goes over the plastic cap which should snap into the metal flap. I can't get it back together. So far there haven't been any issues with it not being there. My dealer can't even get me in until September.

The dealer can't get you in for over a month? I would think this would be covered by your warranty (unless for some reason you are out of warranty). I would say try and find another dealer close by that can get you in much sooner than the dealer you already checked with. I went down and checked my fuel filler pipe and saw the assembled piece, and if I pushed the flap in as if a gas nozzle was inserted the smell of gas was pretty strong. With the cap in place, the smell disappeared. I too think you will eventually get a check engine light and would not want that gas smell.

So far no gas smell and now CEL. I'm still under warranty. I'm just have to live with it until I can get it into a dealer. They are all booked up for weeks.
Even if out of warranty that might possibly be covered under the emissions section as it is allowing raw gas fumes to be emitted to atmosphere. It's worth a try.
Depends how important it is to you to pay out of pockets of about $125.00. I went to each of these three websites and attempted to purchase and it allowed me to add to cart.
