Had my C7 side mirror taken out by a passing vehicle ! The shell remains but no actuator or mirror left inside. Can I purchase these items as replacement parts or do I need to purchase a complete replacement mirror ?? Where's the best place to purchase either option ?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
You will need to know the color of the mirror housing as well as if it was equipped with auto-dimming. 2LT and 3LT cars had the auto dimming.
Once you know those things you can look for a correct replacement. I'd recommend posting a "wanted" ad in this forum's for sale section.
Regarding color, I'll point out that some cars came with mirrors that were not body color but were painted "Carbon Flash Metallic" to match other trim on the car such as the grilles and rear diffuser and even possibly the rear spoiler. Do not mistake this color with Black.

One thing you can do is check with a vendor like aescorvetteparts who parts out cars and who knows, may just have a mirror in excellent shape in the color you need.

If a destroyed mirror is the only damage suffered by your car from a sideswipe, run out and buy a lottery ticket; you are one lucky guy!
One bit of wisdom I gleamed from reading the mirror threads on this forum, if you are super lucky, and the base of your mirror is undamaged, you can replace the shell without doing surgery on the inside of your door. Makes it a lot easier. But if the base is damaged, plan for inside door surgery.
Agree with looking/posting on the BST forum. You may get lucky again!

I'm not sure if all you need is the glass, but I highly recommend www.sandyeggodesigns.com. They have a driver side convex mirror that is custom fit and a great mod to improve the vision from the driver's side. I love mine and it was the best $30. I've put into the car. Good luck and I hope you luck continues...

Agreed...in the 15 years I had my C5, I took out 3 mirrors...well 2 I did...one my wife did. All I got used ... had my local indie body shop paint them & install them ... and overall the total cost was half of the new price.
