Hey guys I am super new to this forum and I just got me a Laguna Blue Corvette C7 Stingray. Now I did get the spoiler and the side skirts just order me the stage one front lip and Z06 front grill. But the wheels I want are from a company called JC Custom Forged wheels. I have decided the look and design since they will be making this custom for me to make it fit perfect and we will be doing a F:20x9.5 R: 20x12 with 275/30/20 and 325/25/21 tire. Now I am between 2 color choices and need you guys to help me decide what to do. There is the brush aluminum silver finish which will show the fine detail of the wheels and or the Gloss Dark Gunmetal/Anthracite. I have posted to the pics here to see what you will like and the wheels so you know what your looking at.
Congrats on your C7! Sweet wheels too. That's a tough one. The photoshop of the silver wheels looked like chrome so I was automatically going to say the gunmetal ones. But since they're more of a hypersilver, that makes it harder!
I actually think I'm gonna say the silver ones this time in this wheel and color!
I was leaning towards the brushed silver but the gun metal got me twisted! I always liked blue and the brush look but I don't like black grrr need help before they start building the wheels! Also the pics of the wheels on the car show the 20's and 21's hence they look big.
Thanks bro really excited to have a corvette finally but want it to look classy I have included 2 pics of the brush finish and yes i did notice it looks like chrome but its not!
I have had both aluminum and black wheels. I prefer the aluminum color wheels because they are so much easier to keep looking nice. The dark wheels show all the brake pad dust.
In general I would say depends on the look you are after. In my opinion (since you asked), shiny (whether chrome or aluminum or whatnot) has a more elegant, classy look - especially with darker paints. Dark wheels, on the other hand, have a more aggressive, almost sinister, look to them. MANY years ago, I had a forest green convertible Firebird. It had polished aluminum wheels and looked very classy. That was good because it only had the V6 engine! When I was shopping for my C7, I was really favoring the black wheels with the blue paint. The long beach red vert I ended up buying came with the polished Motorsport wheels as part of a special package and that was okay. But the wheels completely change the "feel" I get from the appearance.
brushed silver IMO.
However, I'm a bit worried about your wheel sizes on a narrow body vette. Rubbing your fenders and liners.
I asked the guy the same question but he said since we are making it custom that it will be perfect flush and he also said this "The recommended tire circumference difference is within the factory TC tolerance at +3.4%. There will be a slightly difference on the speedometer reading due to larger wheel sizes, but that’s common for all cars running upsized wheels." He goes we checked everything and this combination will work perfectly fine!

I have always like bright, shiny wheels on my cars, but comparing the two pics, I have to say the dark gunmetal wheels look really good on your blue car.
If you don’t mind, could you post the style of those wheels and maybe PM me what the cost was?
I think that those wheels are going to look terrific. One question/concern, those tires are going to have super short sidewalls, what about rim damage at the first pothole?
Your are in the same general size range as the GS, ZO6 and ZR1 and those sizes are problematic for many owners.

The gunmetal/anthracite wheel seems to blend better with the car's blacked-out treatment. If the car had the chrome badge and other accents, the silver wheel would be a good fit.
Nothing but purely subjective opinion... are you planning doing a "vote count?" If so, just flip a coin and tell yourself it's by far and away the best choice. YOUR opinion is all that matters. Enjoy however you ultimately decide... Btw, I'd go with the same BLUE as your car, to match it.

Thanks but which ones are going to look teriffic...? I live up here in Beautiful BC and we really don't get that much pot holes but guess we will just have to drive carefully lol thanks for the heads up. They are big but since I am using this car for small rides and taking the wifey out I think it should be fine as I have a truck as my daily driver!

Yeah I agree but since its all computer based you really can't see the true color. I did talk to the designer and I pretty much mentioned that I want the brush finish on maybe a satin light gunmetal. So he will send me some options tomorrow such a big decision.
I would get your mechanicals straight-ed out before a wheel purchase. You would be purchasing a monoblock wheel that is the strongest type of a manufacture.
Forgeline would be my choice of wheel.Pay more get more I believe.
Except for brake pads
Not remembering anyone putting 20's on the front. As long as the aspect of the wheel is stock with same outside diameter wheel and tire combo is stock.Especially if you lower it?
Stock is tight.Your call.I don't know if it will work?
Gerry from custom wheels for less would know.
