Double down and have OnStar and then you can start it with your phone. From anywhere. Still inside the store? No problem.

It was 109 F in Paseo Robles, and the car had been sitting in the sun for fourhours, with the sunshade up, and I knew it was going to be very 🔥

I used the widget to remotely open the windows, started the car, closed the windows, with an inch at the top.

I waited five minutes and it was quite pleasant when I got in the car.

Definitely hard to argue that the remote start feature is not a good thing on a hot summer or cold winter day.

With the price of gas these days I'm not going to idle my engine unnecessarily at all, on a hot day if you open the windows and crank the AC you'll be comfortable in 2 or 3 minutes anyway. Or if you open the windows and pop the roof you'll be pretty comfortable pretty much right away unless it's 120 degrees outside.

• Idling uses up to 1⁄2 gallon of fuel per hour. At $6/gal.
$3/60 min. = .05/min.
2 or 3 min. idling = 10 or 15 cents

Even still, I have never been a fan of idling an engine more than necessary, especially on initial startup. It's one of the worst things you can do for an engine.

That's the ONE thing I dislike about a having a manual. No remote start.

I can tell I'm from another time and place. I wouldn't trade a manual for all the remote starts in Hades.

I understand. On the other hand, you, obviously do not live where it is 95 degrees and 95% humidity!😵‍💫
