Gm Extended Warranty- no longer
So I emailed Dennis Fichtner. He said Gm is no longer offering any Extended warranties for cars out of factory warranty 3-36.
So the question is. Who offers a good warranty for our cars now ??

Guess GM doesn’t have much faith in their products.

I have talked with both Dennis Fichtner and Todd Sutherland and they both were surprised that GM changed the rules on the extended warranty program.
Your local dealer may have access to another warranty company - I know my dealer offers a warranty through State Farm.

I didn't buy one because I was going to modify at some point so why bother giving you money when you are going to deny me? Rightfully so since I was making it what they are not going to warranty under the terms. On my truck, it is worth it because it wasn't going to be modified.

I got mine from Dennis on my 17 GS May 2020. Guess I was lucky. It was close to 3 years old but only had 14k on it.

When GM was selling the GMPP plans the rules were you couldn't purchase a plan if the B2B warranty had expired. During the financial crisis, GM sold off its finance business including GMPP which became Ally Bank with the agreement that GMPP would continue to provide plans for GM cars through at least the end of the C6 era. Then a few years later GM came out with their GMEPP plan and basically restarted a finance division. That was when I heard that GMEPP would cover vehicles with expired B2B warranties. I suspect the plans on cars that were basically over 3 years old didn't get many Customers.

Do the research. Most are far better off investing the premium money, using any for needed repairs along the way, AND then having a great party on what's left after the extended warranty would have expired. Yeah, yeah... everyone knows someone who is the exception; and, someone wins the PowerBall, too.

I used to worry about the AFM/DOD lifter issues and felt like I needed an extended warranty.
Now I am comfortable with the idea that when the failure occurs, I will use the money I would have spent on a warranty toward an AFM delete cammed rebuild or replacement motor, and worry no more.
The unreasonably oppressive government regulated drive toward fuel economy pushed GM to this AFM/DOD scheme. Otherwise the LT series V8 is awesome!

That's why practically everything these days has an option to buy an extended warranty, they are cash machines.
Buy a stinking dust buster at Target and they offer an extended warranty.
And yes, there's always the rogue internet story about somebody who had 8 million dollars in "covered" repairs, blah blah, but always on the internet, never in real life.
