Default Center Console Issue

Any ideas on how I can safely take the "stretch" out of my center console?

I have a manual and this happened to me from always having my elbow on the box.

That was a warranty issue back in the day, it's what's underneath that fails.. mine did as well but dealer set me up with Z06 logo unit which has not done that. A pro may be able to fix it, or look online for the black console cover with logo. Moving you to C7 General for further discussion

Yup March of 2017 the console lid was redesigned so that very issue would not happen anymore.

I believe that it did fix the issue.

No issues or wrinkles.

The console in my 17 GS did that twice. Both times they were replaced under warranty. The last one been in there over 5 years and is still ok.

remove it and have an auto upholster repair it. Easy fix for them.

I had mine recovered and embroidered at a local custom upholstery shop.. I think I paid $180??? He used high end leather and feels great.

My 2016 Z51 M7 is wrinkle free but my 2018 Stingray was wrinkled like yours and it did bother me.

Our 2017 (made in Fall of 2016) developed the wrinkle after a while, the replacement has been flawless for about 4 years. So the fix works on at least some cars.

My original looked like that. Use a blow dryer and get the material warm/hot first. Then take a wet washcloth soaked in ice water and apply until if fully cools. Do it about three times and should come out "almost" as good as new - not perfect. YMMV

That happened to me when I was driving around with the top off and the sun had warmed up the leather but once it cooled it went back to normal luckily, since then I just put a decorative towel like one from a baseball game (GO DODGERS), to cover it and it stays good as new, no more issues.
